Nightwear Slumber Party!

By Tamarstylist @tamarstylist

Ohh we are so loving the Barbican Theatre this week, and think it is time to book ourselves some tickets. A sensational event is being staged that sees the whole of the Pit Theatre transformed into a bedroom - of gargantuan proportion! Audience members will be required to don their nightwear and grab their sleeping bags for a theatre trip with a difference - and don’t forget your toothbrush.

Produced by the Duckie theatre company, Lullaby is a slumber style story telling and cradle song which leaves the audience gently nodding off. The good news is after the show has ended there really is no need to leave as tickets allow the show goer to spend the night in the giant bedroom and sleep till morning. Breakfast will be served once the sun rises, and audience members are then free to leave and resume the grind of normal life!

We have to say this is right up our street (in case you hadn’t guessed!), simply loving the whole nightwear scene as we do, this could not be more perfect. Starting in June 2011 the initial show is scheduled to run for one month but we are guessing that if it proves to be a crowd puller then it will be extended and perhaps taken on tour around the country.

Not being performed until next year also means that we can take our time to select the best nightwear for our public slumber party and it leaves us in a bit of a frenzy as we just love having an occasion to get ready for. Will it be pyjamas or a nightshirt, satin, silk or jersey. The amount of combinations is simply endless and choosing the best makes our day seem even brighter!

In fact nearer the time we may have to have a Lullaby week so we can make sure all of our customers are the best dressed audience members they have ever seen. Spot an Idlewild London customer amongst the crowd of nightwear clad people - it is simple, they are the best dressed! We are also considering our choice in dressing gowns, obviously we need this essential garment, for visiting the ladies room or for attending breakfast in the morning - can you tell we are really excited about this!

It is definitely concept theatre, clearly at this stage how the normal people will respond is as yet unknown - the normal people being those slightly less infatuated with nightwear than we are! We would like to wish producer Simon Casson the best of luck as we personally think this is an excellent idea, and look forward to being amongst some of the first through the door next year. Hopefully the concept will appeal to lots of people, and hopefully they will shop with us before they go. We look forward to seeing you all there and having a relaxing evening and sleep filled night. Oh and by the way fluffy bunny slippers are optional!
