Nightwear News: London Marathon Pyjamas Runner

By Tamarstylist @tamarstylist

MARC Jenner won’t be too worried if he oversleeps for the London Marathon – he’s running the course in his pyjamas and dressing gown.

And while other competitors jostle for the leading positions, Marc, 34, of The Avenue, Taunton, is planning to start at the back of the race on Sunday, April 25.

He is asking family and friends to sponsor him for every participant he overtakes over the 26.2 miles to raise at least £1,500 for the Children’s Wish charity, which grants wishes for terminally and seriously ill youngsters.

It will be the 14th time Marc, a charity events manager, has run the London Marathon in the past 15 years – he missed out in 2008 when he was abroad, but his sister, Lynsey, took his place.

She was due to run with Marc this year but has been forced out by injury.

“I came up with the idea of running from the back in my pyjamas in the hope of raising more money,” said Marc.

“Every runner dreads turning up late for a marathon and being left behind.

“But I won’t have that problem and suspect I’ll start about 45 minutes after the people at the front.

“My best time so far is about four hours, but I reckon this time it will take between 4½ and five hours.” Marc, who has previously completed the race dressed as St George, will have plenty of support on the day.

Several family and friends will be dotted around the course cheering him on.
