New Brand Alert: John Little’s First Ever Date With George And More!

If you’ve been to Plaza Singapura recently, you probably noticed that the massive space which was previously occupied by French supermarket, Carrefour, has been undergoing renovations for quite some time. All these while behind the white boards bearing the promising words of “Coming Soon”, local departmental store chain John Little has been working its magic.

We were invited for a media tour of their new store, their biggest outlet in Singapore standing at 38,000 sqft and host of the Singapore debut of leading UK brand, George. Housed in a unique store-within-a-store concept spanning 8,000 square feet, George is a one-stop fashion stop for the entire family that offers versatile fashionable apparel and eye-catching accessories steeped in the brand’s three values: Style, Quality and Value.

We began with a tour of John Little, before moving on to George, so here are some brands to look out for in the biggest John Little in Singapore!

The beauty section holds a wide variety of international and local brands, some of which are exclusive to John Little.

One such brand is THE SKIN PHARMACY, the first boutique pharmacy in Singapore specialising in skincare. Founded by two pharmacists with more than 15 years experience in the beauty and pharmaceutical industry, all products with THE SKIN PHARMACY label are their own special formulations, with particular emphasis on natural and active ingredients that work and are safe. As such, THE SKIN PHARMACY uses natural or naturally derived ingredients for all their products.

Another brand exclusive to John Little is Studio Makeup, with their first launch in Asia situated right in our little island. Based in the US, Studio Makeup has a wide range of makeup products, from foundations to nail polishes to cater to your beauty needs.

The top seller is their Soft Illusion Face Primer, which minimizes the appearance of pores and imperfections to evens out the skin’s surface and create a flawless, smooth canvas.

After you’ve wandered around the endless aisles of beauty and skin care products, head over to the Staples (John Little’s In-house brand) section, for affordable fashion finds!

With an attractive price point ranging from $7 -$39 for women wear, Staples offers a wide selection of value-for-money outfits for the entire family!

Saving the best for last, we were finally introduced to George,  the UK’s fourth largest fashion retailer in terms of sales value and the third for volume. In addition, the brand is one of the UK’s biggest retailers for kidswear. With a goal of helping their customers save money and still getting the best value, George has a wide variety of quality clothing for the family at affordable prices.

Upon entering the store, the first display in sight is the “Be Seen In” collection, which features trendy clothing inspired by those seen on fashion runways. This fast paced collection is rapidly produced and launched to ensure that shoppers are able to keep up with the fashion pieces of the moment, whether it is animal prints or neon brights. With pieces available from a size 8 – 22, George aims to make fashion available to the everyone and anyone!

With lingerie and cute sleepwear starting from only $11, it’s time to throw out the frumpy oversized sleep shirts and get some proper PJs!

For women, George has 2 collections targeted at different age groups, MODA and G21.
