Well, if you don’t want to inject testosterone enanthate in your glute, there are a few more options.
From personal experience these supplements definitely make you feel stronger and increase sex drive, but the research around significant increases in testosterone levels is a little vague and sketchy on most of these herbs and supplements – you’re never going to get ‘steroid like effects’ but if you are over 30 or have low testosterone levels, they certainly seem to help with recovery and adaptation to training.
Fenugreek
If I was to take one thing for increasing testosterone (and boners), it would be fenugreek, closely followed by zinc in second place.
Fenugreek is a plant native to India and used in curries. Yum. You can buy it from ebay, it’s pretty cheap.
Zinc
Zinc become popular with athletes and meatheads in the late 90s when ZMA become the ‘new creatine’. Again pretty cheap, I just use a non-bodybuilding product from Amazon.
Tribulus Terrestris
A plant used in Chinese medicine, it is said to heal the liver and kidneys, it’s also a decent supplement for boners, but does not seem to increase testosterone much unless levels are below normal. You can buy the powder from amazon or ebay.
Tongkat ali / Longjack
Some evidence (according to examine.com anyway) to suggest that this herb has anti-oestrogen and pro-erectile properties, with limited evidence related to boosting testosterone. Not one I’ve tried myself to be honest, but you can buy it from Indigo Herbs.
D Aspartic Acid
Effective booster for those with low testosterone levels. Best cycled 10 days on, then 10 days off. You can buy it from Bulkpowders.
