National Trust Charlecote Park

By Thefoodiecoupleblog

Well, we’ve finally gone and done it. Completing our sign up and descent into middle age we have joined the National Trust, and here is our car sticker to prove it! (excuse the dirty car windscreen!)

Since living in Tamworth we’ve discovered some great local NT places to visit and really enjoyed exploring them, particularly the gardens and grounds, which offer great walks and scenery. The latest property we went to when we finally bit the bullet and joined was Charlecote Park in Warwickshire.

Charlecote is a Victorian House set in a landscaped deer park and we loved the grounds and gardens. Granted we visited on a beautiful sunny day, but the scenery was fantastic. As well as being able to have a nose around the house itself you can also check out their carriage collection and working Victorian Kitchen.

In the grounds you can wander round the summer meadow full of spring flowers and great views of the River Avon, take in the lake and it’s wildlife (we spotted a nesting swan, herons and much more) and also see the copious amounts of deer.

I won’t waffle on, instead just have a look at the rest of the photos!

Our joint membership for the year cost £105 and with under 3’s going free I think will serve us pretty well for days out this year!
