The “C” clasp on the upper ear is flexible metal that allows widening or tightening with a little force. It gives the impression that I pierced my upper ear. I either use it like I do here near the middle part of the ear grasping two ridges, or the way I did at first was just on the single outer ridge of the ear and a little higher up. I feel no discomfort and I’m so glad I am not allergic to lower metals. My hairstyle also flatters the use of earrings like this. They have room to shine with no hair in the way.
These are in a silver finish with fake crystal studs. I also got the gold finish pair in the same design except with pearl studs in case I needed to pair with gold accessories. The only letdown when I first bought these was the stud locks are not snug at all. In fact, the tiny metal imps slipped off from behind my lobes when I first attached them and I was like “What?! H&M are you kidding me?”. I rummaged among my earrings with missing partners and found some unused stud locks that put on the brakes and fit the studs better. No other piercings exist on me other than the default lobe stabs I got as an infant. I’m not AGAINST more piercings, I’m just being clear that I’m not gutsy like that. In fact, it’s my mom who has a second piercing (it’s also Mom who tells me I should tweet more and be more active on Instagram). I’d say 99.5% of the women who see these earrings on me for the first time love them and most think I got pierced again. I guess what makes these so wonderful is their simplicity and how originally indescribable they are.
