Hey There,

It only feels like last week, that I was sat here, (With a cuppa tea, as standard) writing a similar post on my January Birchbox goodies, (Where does the time go?).

And seeing as it is the 5th March today, I am late in telling you about my February box. I wasn’t sure if this would be possible, but Birchbox have managed to beat last months box,(Maybe it was the chocolate that did it).

In my box was a Urban Veda facial wash, Gilchrist & Soames shower gel, Model Co lipstick, Beauty Protector oil, and Eyeko London skinny mini liquid liner, (And some Green & Blacks chocolate… Yummy).

The Urban Veda Daily Radiance Facial Wash, (£7.99), smells amazing, but when you read the ingredients, you soon discover why… It contains Papaya and Goji Berry botanics, Marigold, Coriander and Orange bio-oils, along with others, which all together create a beautiful aroma, (Just what you need to freshen and awaken your skin in the mornings).  The facial wash is designed to brighten and balance out the skin, with active antioxidant ingredients. My skin has been so rubbish recently, (Not the facial washes fault), with a new spot coming up almost daily, but to be honest, using this facial wash made no improvements to my skin. If it was rated on smell alone, I would rank it highly, I wouldn’t say it is a bad product, but not one that has a great influence on the skins complexion, (Well mine).

I don’t have much to say on the Gilchrist & Soames shower gel (£13.75), but that is no fault of the product itself. When it comes to shower gels, I find it hard to take notice of its benefits to my skin, all I want from my shower gel, is to keep my skin hydrated and to make me smell good…And Gilchrist & Soames ticked all those boxes. It is a very luxurious bath product, full of botanicals such as Red Tea, Ginkgo Biloba, Grape Seed and Milk Thistle, it is also Paraben and Phthalate free, so very kind to the skin. It is the sort of posh shower gel, I would get out for special guests or for pamper sessions.

Now I do not know where to start with the Beauty Protector Oil, I am so happy that it was in my box. I used to use oils in my hair when I worked in a spa, but have slowly moved back to hair masks since then…Until now. This little beauty, has rekindled my love for hair oils. I kid you not, I literally put the tiniest amount in my hair one night, and the next day in work, someone commented on how healthy my hair looked, and to be honest I thought the same! From that day on, I became slightly obsessed with using the oil in my hair, and now need a bigger bottle. My hair felt instantly more tame, soft to touch and more manageable, it looked shiny with a gorgeous gloss finish,  (I am definitely hooked on this product). I know alot of people are scared to use oil in the hair, but here’s a little tip for you all…When you apply the oil to your hair, only use a small amount (At the ends), as the oil will be absorbed and slowly move from the tips up, (Depending on how long you leave it on for), when you go to wash your hair, use shampoo on dry hair, (To absorb the excess oil), and then continue to wash as usual, (This was our spa tip for all the Indian Head Massage clients). This particular oil, has been designed to protect against UV rays, heat and strengthen the hair, and if that wasn’t enough, they have even made it a delicious vanilla scent.

My regular readers will know, that I purchased my first ever liquid liner last year, (Loreals Super Liner), which I loved, but had nothing to compare it to. Birchbox sent me the Eyeko London Skinny Mini Liquid Liner in Black (£12.00), which has a ‘felt pen’ like tip, instead of a thin liner brush, and although I need a couple of coats of it, (To get the same depth of black as the Loreal Super Liner), the tip has completely transformed the way I put eye liner on. It is so easy to apply, it gives me a more accurate line and shape, and lasts all day.

Finally, (Apart from the Green & Blacks chocolate) we have Model Co, Party Proof Matte Lipstick in ‘Get Naked’, (£12.00). This is definitely a new favorite lipstick of mine, which now accompanies me in my travel make up bag, wherever I go. Don’t get me wrong, I love my bright lipsticks, (Pinks and corals), but sometimes it is nice to go ‘Naked’, and you can’t go wrong with a nude color. This lipstick does not dry out, it even feels like a lip balm  on the lips , it is long lasting and finished every make up look off perfectly, (It even has a fruity smell on application).

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF MY BIRCHBOX GOODIES?

Lots of love,

KB xx
