My Favourite Products From 2013

By Beautybykaris @beautybykaris

Hey There,

May I start by wishing you all a Happy New Year, and all the best for 2014. I hope you were not suffering too much from your new years eve antics, (But if you were at least it was worth it).

For my first blog post of 2014, I thought it would be appropriate to go over my MOST LOVED products of 2013.

hhh

Elemis Frangipani Monoi Oil, retailling at £31.50.

I first discovered this product, when working at an Elemis Spa in Cardiff, (Laguna Health and Spa), and since then I have not been able to praise it enough. One of my first blog posts on BeautybyKaris, ‘Hair Care Favourites‘ included this wonder product.

I know it seems quite expensive, but it works and it lasts, (As you don’t need to get product happy), its perfect for hydrating the nails and body to, (But I prefer to use it just on my hair).

Garnier’s 7 Day Intensive Moisturising Cream, retailing at less than £5.00.

I fell in love with this body cream, when I took it on holiday with me in 2012. It was the perfect after sun treatment, keeping my skin perfectly hydrated, and has since earned a permanent place in my beauty bag, (And its a complete bargain).

I first wrote about my experience with Garnier’s Intensive 7 day cream, in my ‘Winter Skin Boosters‘ post.

No 7 Tinted Moisturiser, retailing at £11.50.

This is the first and only tinted moisturiser I have used, (So I don’t have much to compare it to) but I love it. The best thing about it, is it is SO easy to apply, and you get great coverage, (Not as much as foundation), but a perfect, natural, day wear look. You can see my full review in my August post ‘No 7 Make Up Special‘.

Rimmel London Hide The Blemish Concealer, retailing at £4.49.

This concealer keeps reappearing in my make up bag, I just keep finding myself going back to it. It is unbelievably good for the price, it provides perfect cover up, (Both under eye and blemishes), and does not pull the skin, like some other stick concealers. It wears all day, and since I wrote about it in my post ‘Hide Those Blemishes‘, several of my friends have added it to their collection.

Elemis Tri Enzyme Face Wash retailing at £29.00.

While training with Elemis, I was lucky enough to be treated to a Tri enzyme facial. The difference it made to my skin was incredible, it made my skin brighter, smoother, and improved my skin tone, (I can see why the facials were so popular with brides to be). This face wash, featured in my ‘Wash Your Face‘ post, and it most definitely has earned a spot in my 2013 favourites.

Origins Drink Up Mask, retailing at £20.00.

If you haven’t used Origins before, make it a ‘must do’ for 2014. It has to be one of my ‘most loved’ skincare brands, and I have yet to try a product I don’t like, (And my mom agrees). The drink up mask is ideal for a pick me up mid week treat, or for an indulgent  pamper day, I personally use it over night, once a week, (Instead of my night cream). Why not have a read of  ’My Origins Love‘.

Estee Lauder Night Repair Serum, retailing at £65.00.

Definitely, my most expensive product…ever! I splashed out on this beauty serum, just after my birthday in August, (A well deserved skin treat). I had been looking for a product which would act as a barrier against environmental damage, and this does just that, knowing how anti-ageing mad I am, this serum ticks all the boxes, (My mom and sister give this serum the thumbs up to).

I reviewed this product in my ‘Estee Lauder Treats‘ posts.

Illamasqua Lipstick in Scandal, retailling at £16.50.

I am not sure if this can qualify for my 2013 favourites, (As I only brought it in December), but I LOVE the color that much, that I had to add it to the list, (Even before doing a full review on it). Scandal is a stunning warm coral colour, and seems to suit my skin tone perfectly. I worked across from their counter in Cardiff, (For almost a year), admiring the dramatic colouring, envious of the artistic, and flawless faces of their staff. I am not sure why it has taken me so long to buy from Illamasqua, but I only now wish I had taken advantage of the store discount.

O.P.I Liquid Sands in Alcatraz Rocks, retailing at under £10.00.

To finish my list of 2013 favourites, I will again choose a product I have yet to review, (Keep an eye out for this weeks Manicure Monday). When it comes to nail polish, I find it hard to narrow down any of my favourites, generally because I tend to pick the color depending on what mood I am in, or just to match an outfit. I decided to include O.P.I Liquid Sands, as it is currently my go to polish, (As it goes with everything…and lasts ages), I have already ordered another one in a different color.

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF MY FAVOURITE PRODUCTS OF 2013?

WHAT PRODUCTS WILL YOU CARRY ON USING IN 2014?

Lots of Love,

KB xx
