Thanks to the nice folks over at Sonic Drive-In, I received a gift card for my family and I to use at one of their fine establishments in order to try their new frozen treat, The Sonic Master Blast.
With the horrific Polar Vortex most of the country has been facing, Sonic decided to harness that deep freeze sweeping the nation to create exciting premium versions of its fan-favorite SONIC Blast® with six all-new, masterfully mixed SONIC Master Blast® flavors. Yum. These new frozen desserts are made with SONIC’s indulgent, creamy Real Ice Cream and hand-mixed ingredients to create six premium flavors, including Turtle Pecan, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Banana Split, Triple Chocolate, Pineapple Upside Down and Caramel Brownie.
Sounds good, right?
So yesterday after church, we all hopped in the truck and headed out to our favorite Sonic location in San Marcos, eager to try some new sweets. But first, we had to eat. I couldn’t wait. You guys, I love hot dogs something serious, and I couldn’t wait to get there and sink my teeth into the gloriousness that is a Chicago Dog. Are you kidding me? Pickles, tomatoes, hot peppers, relish, onions and mustard all on a hot dog?? YES PLEASE!
So we arrived, ordered the kiddo a chicken strip kid’s meal, and my husband went with the chili cheese cony that he so loves. I obviously went with the Chicago Dog, and the hubby and I decided to split a large strawberry lime fresh fruit slush. BOMB. So good. I’m obsessed with that slush.
Anyway, after our meal, it was time to get down to business. We each selected the flavor that sounded the best to us. The kiddo drooled over the Cookie Dough Master Blast, made with SONIC’s real, vanilla ice cream mixed with soft, chocolate chip cookie dough pieces. My husband opted for the Turtle Pecan Master Blast, with SONIC’s real, vanilla ice cream mixed salted caramel syrup with chocolate chips & pecans. As for me? I wanted the Banana Split Master Blast, made with, once again, SONIC’s real, vanilla ice cream mixed with decadent chocolate chips, banana & strawberries.
After a short wait, our blasts arrived in all their glory.

Don’t they look amazing?
We all loved the blasts, and agreed that they’re our new favorite frozen treat. I see a lot of hot dogs and Master Blasts in our future.
