My Dream Personal Space

My Dream Personal Space

Our main bedroom is fairly small with just enough space to fit our king size bed, and chest of draws, it does have fitted wardrobes, but the space is nicely complimented with the en-suite; my little haven, it is also one of the most practical and useful additional spaces. It's a small space so it is important for me to use storage solutions creatively, to get the most out of the space. And, it is in need of a makeover. Since moving in our home 8 years ago, the en-suite was put last on the list for decoration and we still have yet to get to the bottom of that list.

Why is my en-suite so important to me? Because it is the only space in the house that is mine - I do share it with my husband, but the majority of space and usage is mine - I keep all my make-up, creams, toiletries etc.. in the bathroom, it is my go-to place when I want to hide. It's about comfort and privacy; if we have guests or the boys have friends sleeping over, it enables me to be able to wander about in my own area care-free.
My dream, once we finished decorating the boys rooms, is to create something fabulous and relaxing. I want to keep it clean, simple, to achieve a peaceful atmosphere and environment. The current decoration is a boring, dull magnolia and basic decor; with a standard walk-in shower, cream basin and cream toilet - not at all to my taste.

Below is what I would choose for my dream personal space:

The tiles would be a pale, soft colour, I like the Colour Compendium Pale Aqua Wall Tile. White large floor tiles, and definitely I would have underfloor heating and get rid of the radiator on the wall, which will also give us more space, and it would make the room look cleaner. We have underfloor heating downstairs, and it is just a dream to walk on the warm tiles, especially in the winter.

  • The bathroom furniture has to be white, and I like the Premium Mayford range, which will offer me the functioning space I want, with all the storage solutions I need.
  • The Vitra Serenada toilet and counter top basin, with the classic Viscount taps.
  • For the shower it has to be the Mira Galena Electric in Slate, and for the enclosure I really like the Premier Aegean Walk In Shower Enclosure.
  • Finally, for the accessories: Frontline Chic Brass Toilet Brush Holder, Croydex Brompton Flexi-Fix Toilet Roll Holder, Triton Metlex Majestic Chrome Tumbler and Toothbrush Holder, and I am loving this Triton Metlex Majestic Chrome Tumbler and Toothbrush Holder

To finish my it off, for me it is important to have stunning mirror because it is where I will spend a big chunk of my time whilst in the bathroom, doing my make-up, hair etc. The mirror will be the feature of the room and this HiB Sonic Top Illuminated Bathroom Mirror, it is beautiful; Mirrored on the side, this mirror is stream free.
