Being 24 hasn’t hit me just too hard yet. I guess when you’re just getting into your mid-twenties, gaining a year doesn’t really do too much to you.
For my birthday though this year, I wanted to make sure that it was extra, extra special. I spent the early morning taking a flight home back to my hometown of Cleveland, Ohio, and then soon after spent the many long hours en route to my favorite island in all of Ohio, Put-In-Bay.
Normally when I travel somewhere, I never really have too much of an agenda planned, because the beauty of life is really knowing that you never know what you’re going to expect day to day. When I went to Put-In-Bay though, I, yes, had an entire agenda planned out for my friends and family, so that we could make sure that we ventured across the entire island in only 3 short days.
When we first got to Miller Ferry, after about an 1 hour drive from Cleveland, I remember that I always remembered the sweet little gift shop, just before you entered the ferry. Seeing the ferry brought on many childhood memories, but with much excitement as I was ready to venture off into a fun-filled birthday weekend.
By the way, if you’re looking to plan a trip in the near future to Put In Bay, I will include the links at the bottom of this post for your reference and/or needs.
After we proceeded to get off of the ferry, we went straight for E’s Golf Cart Rentals. Normally, when you want to cruise around the island, it’s always easier to cart around on a golf cart, rather than foot because the attractions can be a bit of a hike on foot. As soon as we rented a golf cart, we headed straight for downtown, where there are a mix and mingle of shops, as well as a personal train tour, that gives you an entire tour of Put In Bay itself. Just a glimpse of my favorite thing about Put In Bay, downtown. Downtown includes multiple shops, restaurants, bars and lounging areas. There is also my favorite part of the island which is, The Boardwalk, which serves really yummy Lobster Bisque, and is a must have treat for any visitor! The Put In Bay monument, where you can actually go inside, and all the way to the top for viewing pleasure.
And, as always, a little fun had to be had as well…
