Mondays with Karen AND Marcus the Cats on a Tuesday: New Friendships Are Sometimes Hard!

By Slowdownandsavor

Happy Tuesday everyone! I hope everyone’s day off yesterday was nice, and hopefully you were able to take a moment or two or three and think about all those fallen soldiers, as they are the reason you had that day off yesterday for Memorial Day. As my friend Caitlin from The Pearl & The Pilot said, it’s a day for “wives who will never kiss their husbands again, children who will never sit in their daddies’ laps, fathers who will never take their daughters to another baseball game, friends carrying their buddy’s casket out of the back of a C-17. Today is a day to remember those who never came home.” Beautifully and perfectly said.

So as you may or may not have noticed, last week, I didn’t put up a Mondays with Karen the Cat post, and there’s really no reason for that except I got busy, forgot, and by the time I remembered (Wednesday) I figured I’d just forgo the week and start fresh the next. So here we are, on Tuesday, writing a Mondays with Karen AND Marcus post!

So who is Marcus?

Marcus the Cat

Marcus is our new adopted baby ginger kitten boy, Karen’s adopted younger brother, and now officially part of our family. He is 7 weeks old, and a ball of energy. He won’t ever quit meowing. Ever. EVER. He’s TINY, especially compared to Karen the Cat, and we love him so much.

Well, maybe not everyone… Karen the Cat is having a difficult time adjusting to not being the only child. Our 6 year old, however, is having the best time playing with the baby kitty.

And so is my husband.

But once again, Karen is very put off.

I am just waiting for the day that Kare-Bear and Marky Mark can be best buds, and play together, nap together and just have the best time being together.

So until then, wish us luck over here, as we try to keep the peace between these two cute kitties.
