MiL’KiL + Transe Gaule 2014

TG flyer 2014 300x207 MiLKiL + Transe Gaule 2014More than 80 runners will try to run across France this summer, participating in two difference coast-to-coast races. First race will be “Les 1.000 Kilomètres de France” in June (15-27 June), a non-stop run from St-Malo to Sète. Modeled on the famous “Sydney-Melbourne Westfield Run ” in the 80’s, each runner will be helped along the way run by a personal crew and the cutoff for completing the 1000 kilometers is 12 days (288 hours). It will be the 4th edition of this event also nicknamed “MiL’KiL”. The first three editions of the race have been won by Frenchman Alexandre Forestieri in 9 days 08 hours (2008), 8 days 18 hours (2009) and 8 days 13 hours (2012). Triple champion Forestieri who will be back this year for his 4th crossing was only 26 years old when he won for the first time in 2008.Second race in August will be the classic stage race “Transe Gaule” (12-30 Aug.) also crossing the country from The Channel to Mediterranean Sea since 2001. Transe Gaule is now a 1190 K / 19 days run and both races use about 600 kilometers of the same route across central France.Up to now, number of entrants is 37 runners for 4th 1.000 Kilomètres de France and 51 for Transe Gaule XI. Texan Don Winkley and Frenchman Daniel Muller will be back at Transe Gaule, both of them having completed the 19-days run 9 times.
