Microsoft sent out invitations for this event a couple of weeks ago and now the wait’s finally over. Today at 5 PM in New York, the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 is officially going to be revealed. We have put together all the facts regarding the Pro 3 specs and price in this post.
The Pro 3 is coming today.
The Surface Pro 3 is not just an improved version of its predecessor, the Microsoft Surface Pro 2 – it’s a completely redesigned tablet. Not only will it come with a larger, 12in screen (as opposed to the previous Surface models that had 10.6in ones), but the Pro 3 will also get model-specific Type covers. The covers will come in black, purple, cyan and red, with the red cover most likely only available if your purchase the tablet at a Microsoft’s store.
We’ll see the Pro 3 tablet today.
Moreover, there will be five different models of the Surface Pro 3. The smallest model will come with Intel’s i3 chip (plus 4GB of RAM and 64GB of built-in storage), while the other four models will sport Intel’s i5 chips (4/8GB of RAM and 128/256 GB of storage) and i7 chips (8GB of RAM and 256/512GB of storage) respectively. These tablets are expected to cost somewhere between 650 and 1700 pounds, depending on which one you choose.
Microsoft is supposed to release the Surface Mini, too, which will have an 8in screen. It is unclear, however, which processor Microsoft will use for this tablet.
