Merumaya Skincare Review

SAM_1892

Hey There,

So I first heard about Merumaya a couple weeks before the #Sotonoctmeetup and was super excited to hear that they would also be attending the blog event. Now grab yourself a cuppa, and make note of this skincare brand, as it is only going to get better.

When I got to the #Sotonoctmeetup I headed over to the Merumaya table almost immediately, and was greeted by the lovely Lekha, (Not going to lie, she definitely made me love the brand that little bit more just because how nice she was, and I don’t think I was the only one). She definitely knew her stuff, she was extremely informative, gave us background info on the brand, and of course discussed the products, and some of our own skincare concerns. I was hooked after she started going on about the expertise and knowledge of the founder Maleka Dattu who has worked with Clinique, Origins and Lancome, (And we all know how much I love Origins). Merumaya is still quite young, celebrating its second birthday around the time of the meet up, I just wish I had heard about it sooner.

After having a chat with Lekha, she sent me a way with some of the samples, giving me a larger size night cream, (Because I think she could see how skincare obsessed I was), to help with my break outs. I really wanted to let my mom try some, as I knew she would love it, but I couldn’t share it this time. I was most excited about trying the Skin Brightening Exfoliating Peel, as when I tested it on my hand, it tingled a lot, and you could definitely see a difference. For me, if it tingles, or makes your skin feel a little funny, it means it is working. I sort of thought it would be a little resurfacing, similar to the Elemis Trienzyme range. It appears my face isn’t as sensitive as my hand was that day, but my skin looked a lot brighter the day after using the peel, a more refreshed look, and I’ll even go as far to say my skin was glowing after a couple more uses. All I had to do was leave it on for 3-10 minutes, (Opting for the ten minutes myself) so similar to a face mask. Although I like the feeling of exfoliating my face, this kind of peel is a lot more gentle on my skin, and the results were great.

The Melting Cleansing Balm has to be my favourite, (Actually I can’t decide between that and the night cream). It smells beautiful, and feels even better on the skin. I’ve always liked balms, as they tend to feel so indulgent on the skin, but sometimes they can feel quite heavy. Merumaya have got it just right with their cleansing balm, I would like to say the consistency is between a balm and a wash, so it feels luxurious during application, but still gives my skin a squeeky clean feeling, getting rid of all my make up, and all that dirt and grime build up under my skin. Just amazing. It is in the basket ready for pay day.

SO it appears the Overnight Recharge Night Cream is a wonder product. It not only is great for aging skin, but works as an antioxidant, repairs the skin, protects and hydrates. Its formula isn’t as heavy as most night creams I have used, and as I love it so much, I have actually been using it in the mornings to. It has helped balance my skin out, rescued it from the cold weather, and my monthly breakouts. I also tried their Iconic Youth Serum, and you all know I love an anti aging product. This had similar benefits to the night cream, but being a serum, absorbed deeper in to my skin, acting as a boost to my skin day and night. Unfortunately I got a little product happy with it, (Even though a little would go a long way), so I ran out of it too quickly.

The other great thing about Merumaya, if I haven’t already said enough, is that it is SO reasonably priced, with the above products ranging from £14.50-£34.50. It is not too expensive that I have to ‘treat’ myself to it, and I’m sure Merumaya will be a permanent feature in my skincare basket. I’m actually going to go as far as to say that Merumaya are one of my BEST beauty finds of 2014. It’s the sort of skincare all ages and skin types would love.

Have you heard of Merumaya before? Which product would you like to try?

Lots of love,

KBxx
