The Maybelline Fit Me Foundation is one of those drugstore finds that most bbloggers and Youtubers talk about. It's probably in the top 3 along with the Neutrogena Healthy Skin Foundation and the Revlon Colorstay Foundation. I can't say anything about the Neutrogena foundation because I never tried it but I can attest to how good the Revlon Colorstay foundation is.
The Maybelline Fit Me Foundation is said to be a gel foundation that a has a "fit-to-tone" ttechnology that makes it adapt to the user's skin tone; "replaces over saturation with pigment balancers for naturally radiant, 100% you."
Said to be a gel foundation, it is more of a liquid foundation. In my opinion, it is more liquidy than my other liquid foundations; it just doesn't have the texture of a gel foundation. And I just realized how many times I wrote liquid in this paragraph, but anyway, moving on...
The Fit Me sinks well to the skin. The description says it has a light to medium coverage but I think it is more medium to full coverage depending on what you use for application. Application with a sponge or a beauty blender will give you that light to medium coverage and application with a brush gives amedium to full coverage. Bothtechnique will still give you a natural look , which is not quite matte nor dewy, and the foundation will still feel light and not heavy on your skin. It does neutralize the redness and evens out my skin tone. It also covers up my dark circles fairy well with one layer but I do add another light layer on top of it for a more full coverage - no concealer needed, although if you are someone who likes a brighter under eye area you would definitely need a brightening concealer.
For someone like me who has normal to dry skin, it left my skin fairly moisturized throughout the day. It didn't cling on to any dry patches on my skin, nor did it make my face oily. For people with oily skin, I believe this product would still work fairly well; just make sure to set it with a powderto control those oils. I did try to set it with my MAC MSF Natural just to try it out and it didn't look cakey at all but with the colder weather, I just like leaving my foundation as is without setting it with powder.
Surprisingly, this foundation is long lasting and even on the 8th and 10th hour of wear it was still good. The only drugstore foundation that can last me for 10 hours and more is the Revlon Colorstay so the Fit Me really is a good long-lasting foundation from the drugstore and a good alternative for long-wearing high end makeup base. With a face primer underneath, it would surely last hours longer than 10.
By the way I have the shade 220 in Medium Natural Beige. It's the same shade I have with the Dream Liquid Mousse. I'm not sure if all Maybelline foundation shades are all the same but all their products that are in 2.5 Medium Natural Beige matches are quite well and this is no different so I'm just happy that it is easier for me to pick out my shade. Actually, the Fit Me looks lighter in the bottle and I almost bought the next shade up just because I wasn't sure if it would match we just basing on it's appearance the bottle, so it is something to take note of. Good thing I went with the shade name and it matched perfectly.
The bottle is really nice, simple and sleek. Shade numbers are written in front and the equivalent name is written in a small font on the back sticker along with other product information. The only thing I wish they did with the packaging is to add a pump for more control in dispensing the product like they did with the Dream Liquid Mousse.
This photo is taken with my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 so sorry if the quality is not as great No filter has been used.
I am currently in love with this foundation, hence it was included in my October favorites. I definitely would repurchase this once I run out of it. I think it will last me a good two more months before finish this bottle since I've been using it nonstop for the past month and a half.
This foundation is great and I definitely recommend this to all you ladies who are in search of a good drugstore foundation.
Always stay pretty!
