May Joliebox

By Lotionsandpotions @LotionNPotion
Hello!
I had a lovely surprise this morning when my first Joliebox arrived. I couldn't decide between signing up for the Joliebox and the Glossybox so I signed up for both!
I had already seen some posts on this month's Joliebox so I did already have an inkling as to what would be inside.
May Joliebox
Back: Talika Eye Therapy Patch
Middle From Left to Right: Essential Care Organic Rose Moisturiser, RMK Make Up Base, China Glaze Nail Laquer (Material Girl)
Front: Joliebox Brush
Talika Eye Therapy Patch:
I must admit, I was quite disappointed to discover that I had been sent the Talika Eye Patch instead of the Lipocils Expert eyelash growth serum, which was also sent out. I had been hoping to get the serum as I am pretty obsessed with trying to achieve the perfect, fluttery lashes and had been wanting to try a growth serum for quite some time. They're all so expensive though, so I had thought that it would be pretty perfect to try one out from Joliebox. Alas, it was not be!
The eye patch claims to be the solution to erasing 'signs of fatigue and the wrinkles of the eye contour in 30 minutes flat' and also claims to reduce eye bags and dark circles. Another plus is that it says it's reusable and will work a minimum of 3 times. Worth a try, no?
Essential Care Organic Rose Moisturiser 15ml:
So happy to have received this product! Organic products are always a plus in my book as they tend to be gentler and make my skin happier - happy skin = happy me!
This moisturiser is light, sinks in quickly, makes my skin soft and smells amazing. It's quite strongly scented, but this comes from nice, natural essential oils and plant oils. I tried this out on my wrist about 2 hours ago and it smells pretty rosy! (the scent is rose, in case you were wondering)
My absolute favorite thing about this brand/product, however, is that the products are all eczema-friendly:
'Essential Care's founder, Maragret Weeds, began creating skincare for her family's eczema-prone skin in 1987 and ever since has been on a mission to create the purest skincare on earth.'

They also don't test on animals, and are eco-friendly. Great brand!
RMK Make Up Base 15ml:
I have actually never heard of RMK before, but having done a bit of googling I'm quite looking forward to giving this a try!
I think it's basically a primer so you apply it before your foundation/concealer. I don't have much to say about this one - I'll report back when I've given it a go!
China Glaze Nail Laquer 14ml (full size bottle):

May Joliebox(Apologies for my awful cuticles/nails/varnish application skills - they are all in need of some TLC and/or practice!)
Ok, I'll admit that I was not particularly thrilled to see this in the box. I'm not a fan of glittery nail polishes - they make me feel like I'm 6 and should be skipping off to play with my Barbies and it probably didn't help that this was a pale pink shade (called Material Girl).
However, I have completely changed my mind since trying this out! The varnish went on so thickly and smoothly and the glitter wasn't sparse like so many other varnishes. I almost can't believe the depth of the sparkle on this and keep looking down at my nails in wonder.
It only took 2 coats to get an opaque look, but I would recommend having a layer of a similar shade underneath just to ensure there are no gaps in color. I have also put a layer of clear varnish over the top just so that my nails don't feel rough and to protect from getting glitter EVERYWHERE as it falls off. We all know that this happens - glitter is gorgeous, but still a pain in the [insert preferred body part here].
This has ended up being one of my favorite items in the box!
Joliebox Brush:
This also came in the box and I'm assuming it's a freebie as there is no information about it on the contents card. I actually wish there had been some info about it on the card because I'm no brush aficionado and have no idea what this one is for! Concealer? Eyeshadow? Not a clue!
Any help on that front would be much appreciated - did you get the Joliebox and can you tell me what my nice new brush is for?
Grace
