Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cup rice
- 5-6 kadi patta(curry leaves)
- 1/2 tsp hing (Asafoetida)
- 1 Onion chopped
- 1 Tsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1/2 tsp haldi(turmeric powder)
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1/ 2 tsp jeera(cumin seeds)
- 1/2 tsp coriander powder
- 3 Tsp vegetable oil
- 10-15 roasted peanut
- salt per taste
Method:
- Wash basmati rice in water.Soak for 10 minutes.
- Put oil in pressure cooker on medium heat.
- Once the oil is heated, put curry leaves,hing and cumin seeds into oil.
- As cumin seeds start crackle , put onion and ginger-garlic paste and saute till onion turns little brown.Add roasted peanuts into this.
- Put rice into cooker and saute till rice turns to little pink or golden color.
- Then add turmeric powder,garam masala,chili powder,coriander powder and salt as per taste.
- Add hot water into cooker and cook 'masale bhat' for 3 whistles.
Serve "masale bhat" with ghee and coriander.
