Mango Kulfi

Kulfi is a very popular milk based Indian frozen dessert.

Mango Kulfi is a variation of the plain kulfi just need to add Mango pulp in. It tastes even more divine.It  is one of the simple and delightful mango desserts.

Homemade Mango Kulfi recipe(step by step with photo)

Mango Kulfi
  • Combine all the ingredients except the mango pulp in a pan and mix well.

  • Bring this mixture to a boil in a heavy bottom pan and then simmer over a medium flame, stirring continuously till the milk reduces to a little less than half the original quantity.

  • Switch off and let it cool completely.
  • Once cool completely and add puréed mango, mix well.

  • Pour into the moulds.

  • Cover with silver foil then insert ice cream sticks and freeze for 6 hours or till it is firm.

  • To unmould, allow the moulds to remain outside the refrigerator for  2-3 minutes and then unmould and serve.

Prep time: 5 min                            Cooking Time-15 min
Freezing Time - 4-6hour               serves-4

Main Ingredients: Mango and milk
Cuisine: IndianCourse: sweet and dessertLevel of cooking : medium

Ingredients:

  • 500 ml milk
  • 1/4 cup milk powder
  • 1/2 cup condensed milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup mango pulp
  • Pistachio for garnish, optional

Method:
  • Combine all the ingredients except the mango pulp in a pan and mix well.
  • Bring this mixture to a boil in a heavy bottom pan and then simmer over a medium flame, stirring continuously till the milk reduces to a little less than half the original quantity.
  • Switch off and let it cool completely.
  • Once cool completely and add puréed mango, mix well.
  • Pour into kulfi moulds.
  • Cover with silver foil then insert ice cream sticks and freeze for 6 hours or till it is firm.
  • To unmould, allow the moulds to remain outside the refrigerator for  2-3 minutes and then unmould and serve. 

Notes:

  • Corn flour can be added to thicken milk faster.
  • You can also use disposable plastic cups or thick paper cups instead of regular mold.
  • Adjust sugar according to the sweetness of your mango variety.
