Make Up For Ever Spring 2014 Arty Blossom Palette Spring – Photos, Details, Swatches and LOTD

By Kasthuri

Hello!

Spring is well under-way and here is a look at Make Up For Ever’s Spring 2014 offering, the Arty Blossom Palette (S$75).

We drew a lot of sketches featuring color filaments, like pencil strokes with a watercolour effect

With Arty Blossom, Make Up For Ever wanted to reinvent romanticism – a fresh take on all things soft and romantic. Inspired by pictorial art and watercolours, MUFE wanted the Arty Blossom palette to be able to create a contemporary romantic look. The star of the concept was PINK – which is also featured prominently on the palette lid – which represents the healthy flush of a young girl, brimming with excitement.

The palette features 8 shades and you could roughly divide the palette into 2 – warm, earthy and springtime fresh. In addition to that, if you’re the sort who likes to use 2 or more shades on the eyes, then this palette offers a great number of possibilities and color combinations.

According to MUFE, the watercolour inspiration drove them to create a new eyeshadow formula that is sheerer and allow for a “pure but translucent” effect on the lids and to play off the light. That said, I had no trouble getting the fine pearl and semi-satin shades to swatch and apply opaquely and in full glory.

Gold Plum – brown-toned deep eggplant flecked with gold pearl

Metallic Copper – pearlised copper

Gold Beige – pearlised tan gold

Fresh Peach – pearlised soft peach

Fresh Pink – vivid orchid pink

Pearly Turquoise Blue – pearlised light aqua

Gold Green – pearlised golden olive

Pearly White – pearlised silver white

With the exception of Metallic Copper and Pearly Turquoise Blue, the remaining 6 colours are new and freshly created for the Arty Blossom Palette. Of the lot, Gold Plum and Gold Green are my personal favourites. I wished Gold Plum was more jewel like because the shade itself is beautiful – I don’t really have anything like it – the other eyeshadows I have are more red or purple based plums and somehow, I prefer this.

Here is MUFE’s take on how the Arty Blossom palette can be used.

Enamoured by Gold Plum, I decided to create a look with Gold Plum as the centrepiece – I used the eyeshadows with a slightly dampened brush for a more intense effect and then, to coax the gold sparkle from Gold Plum, I used a dry buffing brush to buff on a little more Gold Plum on my lids. I paired the deep eyes with a softer rose-nude lip and soft cheeks.

On a sidenote, while the MUFE Aqua Rouges were released a little while ago, I’m really enchanted by them now – for me, they last very well and rather comfortably practically the whole day. I’m in a more soft lip color phase right now and the Aqua Rouge in #2 is my latest acquisition.

MUFE’s Arty Blossom palette is a great color palette for someone who’d like to experiment with soft springtime colours and you still can fall back on the safer, warm earthy tones to balance things out to match your mood. While you’re at the counter, be sure to check out the Aqua Rouges!

I’m in the midst of totally spring-cleaning my room and it’s really sucking the life out of me but what must be done, must be done! Hope you’re having a more fun time than me! Thanks for stopping by and have yourself an enjoyable weekend!
