Lush Easter Goodies – Photos, Details & A Hello :)

By Kasthuri

Hello everyone :)

The blog’s been quiet for a bit – I’ve been swamped with work and while lectures are mostly over, there’s a tonne more grading and some paperwork to be done. My room is half packed so that’s another headache. I’m getting back into things and will be posting regularly from this week onwards.

It’s April and this is the Easter Hols weekend (where did Jan, Feb and March go pls?) and a cute little surprise from Lush brightened my day.

This box of Easter goodies was such a delight to open – everything together had a little sweet, buttery, subtly orangey scent wafting out of the box. A little like orange-carrot juice – a little different from the usually candy-esque, sweet sweet scents that several Lush products bear.

Carrot Soap – This has a real refreshing carrot-orange scent, just like juice – the fragrance comes from buchu, lemon and bergamot essential oils. The deeper orange part of the soap is formulated with carrot seed oil while the lighter “leaping bunny” shape in the center is packed with skin-softening Fair Trade Cocoa Butter.

Golden Egg Bath Bomb – The phrase “Glitter Bomb” was invented for this – there is so much golden foil glitter on this, it’s insane. I have glitter all over me and my camera is now sparkling away :) I’ve heard that if you don’t like glitter in your bath, you can just rinse off the glitter before popping it into your tub. The Golden Egg is a bath melt and bath ballistic combined – the Golden Egg sinks to the bottom of the tub as the outer layer melts away and then it floats back up and fizzes around as the inner layer (which is the ballistic bit) comes in contact with the water. This leaves you with a tub-full of toffee-caramel scented golden water.

Bunch of Carrots Reusable Bubble Bar – Swish around these reusable bubble bars in your tub as you desire and keep the remainder for your subsequent baths. I love how these really look like carrots – the orange is the perfect shade! Like Carrot Soap, these are citrus scented with Lemon, Bergamot and Buchu (which has anti-inflammatory properties) for an uplifting, refreshing bath.

Brightside Bubble Bar – This floral-citrus bubble bar is not Limited Edition as far as I remember but this is the first time I’ve paid any attention to it at all. Orange and lemon scents are exactly my faves but the addition of Gardenia to the Bergamot, Tangerine and Mandarin essential oils in this bubble bar make this more appealing. I also love how it looks like a slice of Swiss Roll (I have an incredible craving for cake that has not dissipated in the last month but there is no cake in sight, alas).

I rarely use the tub at home – for one, I slipped in the tub and hit my head once and I’m still a little worried about a repeat. I also feel that filling up the tub uses tooooo much water (it’s rather extravagant ya?). Instead of using my Lush bath bombs for a bath, I use them for a relaxing foot-soak – I fill a basin with warm (bordering on hot) water, break off a chunk of the bubble bar / ballistic and pop it in – soaking the feet once a week or a fortnight even helps relieve a tired back and just makes me feel so much better. The essential oils and skin-loving ingredients also soften skin on the feet so it’s a real treat. If you have some lying around, try it – your tired feet and legs will love you for it!

As always, thanks for stopping by and have a bright, happy week ahead!
