Looking Back on 2014

By Laura @BEBookworm

Looking back at 2014, it was definitely the year of babies. Not babies for me, but for people in my life. Six women in my life gave birth last year! Welcome to the world Adrian, James, Olivia, Joshua, Elsie and Azra!

Here’s a sort of month my month break down of my past year.

January
January was full of green smoothies, watching Angel, learning to code and of course, my birthday!

February
February always tends to be uneventful, except for Chad’s birthday! I also watched a lot of Doctor Who and participated in the Neither Man Nor Beast web conference.

Happy Birthday Chad!

March
March was fun! Comicon, my Grandma’s 90’s birthday, Totally Fabulous Vegan Bake-off and topped of the month with a visit to The Steady for brunch and a surprise gift of a Kobo from my Hubs.

April
April was spent reading comic books, relaxing and going for walks with Chad and Luna, recipe testing for Cupcakes and Kale, and a fun Queer Slow Dance.

May
May included a visit up north for Mother’s Day and protests at Marineland and Ripley’s Aquarium. We also got our VW van!

June
Highlights from June were the Summer of Peace at Cedar Row Farm Sanctuary and the Vegan Pop-Up Shop. I hope there’s another one soon in 2015.

July
Looking back at photos from July make me ache for summer! Another fun trip up north where we explored Singing Sands, picnic with friends at the Toronto Islands and a Fried Food Crawl that left me happily stuffed with deep fried vegan goodness.

August
August was slightly disappointing since I could not go to Farm Sanctuary for the Hoe Down, but my nephew James being born more than made up for that! Also, volunteering at Fan Expo at the end of August was so much fun! And making gooseberry chutney!

August
A wonderful August

September
What a month September was! Veg Food Fest! *drool*, apple picking and The Walk for Farm Animals. A month packed full of good stuff.

October
October means Thanksgiving (and pumpkin pie!) and Halloween. Then gearing up for NaNoWriMo! And well, you know what happened after that from yesterday’s post so I won’t repeat myself.

Pie
Yummy yummy pumpkin pie

I think I got really lucky with 2014. I hope your 2014 was good like mine and if it wasn’t, I hope your 2015 is better. I want my 2015 to be filled with family, friends, food and fun, just like 2014.
