This month it was easy to pick my favorite look, because as soon as I saw it I loved it!
New York Fashion Week is upon us and my favorite look for Feb is the make up from designer Jason Wu’s Autumn/ Winter 2013 catwalk show. And this look is all about the eyes.
Intense flashes of rich peacock purple across the lids in a subtle winged shape add soft drama to an otherwise plain make up look. Purple is an underrated eyeshadow color but it is one of my favourites! Richer tones are always popular for the Winter months, so get in on the look now while the weather is still cold with jewel toned hues from Urban Decay, Maybelline or No7.
Flecked with shimmer and smoked generously around the eyes, this is an easy look to re-create at home. It also works on many faces, with models from Cara Delevinge to Lindsey Wixson showing that every skintone and hair color looks great with this shade.
With eyes open, there is a subtle smoke around your peepers but blink and you see a flash of an intense wash of colour! Glorious!
Pair with simple yet flawless skin, forgo the blusher and opt for pale pink/neutral lips.
In other Wu News, the designer has teamed up with Lancôme on a limited edition make up collection that will hit the US in September. Surely this vibrant purple shade has got to be included somewhere??
