Recently, I've watched a 'hack' video showing that you could mend broken China plates just by soaking them in milk. One of the reasons is because China partially made up of bones, thus it could be mended with milk - someone send a tsunami of milk to the Great wall of China please. This got me thinking and messaging the boyfriend.
However, he just started questioning me where will the milk be placed and how to prevent it from smelling. He ended with, maybe I should try it out. I mean I would but with the minimal research on this theory, I'm sure I would end up with a plastic container filled with mashed chicken bones and foul milk at the end of the experiment.
Thus, I took it to google to see if anyone have ever tried it. Instead, I keep getting pictures of chicken bones on a plate. No google, I meant chicken bones being made into a plate not on a plate.
As I scrolled down, I thought I strike gold when I found this - a Vintage China Chicken Bone plate. However, I was utterly disappointed when i read the description and realized that it is not made from chicken bones but made for placing chicken bones. What kind of world is this where chicken bones get their own crescent moon plates.
As I go through even more results, I spotted this. Apparently it's a sculpture made of left over chicken bones. A little creepy but interesting idea maybe?
While I was staring at these pictures, my father stood at the back and silently stare at it. Judging me. I spotting his expression and started to explain how china plates could be mend using milk and how plates could possibly be made from bones as well. His only reply was,"Please don't make me into a bowl or plate. I don't want fish and chicken to be served on top of me." Which ironically would be kind of a good idea instead of burning the body as per normal in our culture. Just imagine pointing at a plate and be like "My father is now a plate." Or serving a dish and telling your guests, "You are eating off my father." I'm not sure your guests would be more impressed at your craftsmanship or horrified that you've turned your parent into a plate.
Wait does that mean that instead of a human haunting you, a plate shall haunt you now? This idea is getting out of hand.
Anyways, off to the catching up part. August have been like a rocket for me. With my school life ending, - or should I say, unofficially ended - I was busy prepping for my exams and pushing out all these blog posts to maintain livelihood on and off line. It felt as though time sped passed me and I was using a skateboard to catch up. Eventually, I managed to catch up all the pending posts for this month and here they are in a page:
