Selfies, Wefies, and Other creative words that end with ‘-fies’ are trending these days. All one have to do is to use their phone’s front camera and snap a picture of themselves. Simple!
I mean look, even Ellen DeGeneres is doing it. She even broke Twitter because of this photo.
Check out the actions which lead to this photo in this video.
As seen in the picture, some of the faces are cut off. What Ellen needs is the help of a stick, a Selfie Stick!
First off, huge thanks to Bicycle.sg for sponsoring me the Selfie Stick and next: All my opinion given here are my honest opinion on the product. The fact that it’s sponsored does not change my thoughts about it. Ok back to the Selfie Stick -
The Monopod or more commonly known as, The Selfie Stick is basically a helper for you to take photos with a large group of people. This helps us eliminate the trouble of bugging a stranger to take a photo which most probably will end up blurry or not up to our satisfactions.
Put your hand through and grip the pink handle.
The Phone Brackets - Put your phone here. Just push the metal part up to your desired phone size. Make sure it doesn’t drop.
As seen from the above, the selfie stick is rather easy to use. Just put your phone in the phone brackets and extend to your liking and you are done. Oh and not forgetting to switch on the timer before taking a picture.
Here are the results!:
Presenting the victims of my Wefie!
On top of just taking a group photos, you can also use the Selfie Stick to take your #OutfitOfTheDay. This also includes capturing the “Perfect Selfie” with the high angle shots and peeks of your outfit.
With the functions covered, it’s time for a review!
Overall, i felt that the Selfie Stick is a very interesting discovery which will make you look ridiculous but at least, you have a dozen of good shot which included everyone right?
One thing I noticed about the Selfie stick is that wrenched which is supposed to tighten the Phone Brackets does not tighten at all. Leaving us having little heart attacks every single time we tilt the stick drastically. Another downfall I like to touch on would be that if the Selfie Stick is stretched to it’s maximum, my overly heavy phone would cause the stick to bend slightly. Giving us another round of short gasping.
On the positive side, owning a Selfie Stick have cured my scepticism towards this equipment. As futile as it may seemed, this baby is foldable, fun and rather practical. It can be easily carried in your purse or bag and you can extend it’s length to your liking. It is also a good way to bond over the topic of the Selfie stick: "Which angle look better?" "Where you get it?" "How to use?" etc. etc.
All in all, I would give the Selfie Stick 3 IreviewUread smiles.
Despite being the cause to the short rounds of gasping, the fun and social factors does balance the ratings out.
