LeapFrog LeapPad 3 Learning Tablet Review
When I was chosen to review this learning pad I did have have daughter in mind as she is 4 years old and stared primary school this September, but not only that Millie has a lot of learning problems due to her been 10 weeks early and being disabled with Hydrocephalus.
Millie has a SEN worker - Special Educational Needs Teacher

specifically employed to work with children and young adults who need extra support or require an advanced programme of education in order to complete their learning successfully.SEN teachers may work with individuals who are physically disabled, sensory impaired (i.e. deaf/blind), have speech and language difficulties such as dyslexia, have a mental disability such as autism, are emotionally vulnerable, have behavioural difficulties or have a combination of these disabilities. An SEN teacher may also work with gifted and talented individuals.A key aspect of working in this field is identifying individual needs and being responsible for creating a safe, stimulating and supportive learning environment. So with this in mind thought it would be a good learning tool for her to gain more confidence.Millie had been shown what she would be using to help her and her little face lit up!LeapFrog LeapPad 3 Learning Tablet Review
Millie like to draw so one of the application I downloaded for her was Art Studio Ultra £5Budding artist can crate their very own masterpiece to display or share with friends! your child can draw and colour using their imagination on the LeapPad , add fun stamps, patterns.boarders and textures.   LeapFrog LeapPad 3 Learning Tablet ReviewMillie had so much fun with this do have to say she loved adding all the stamps and even having ago with the small brushes to form letters on the screen that she has been learning at school.
At £5 for this application I don't think its that bad as we have got lots of use out of it.

LeapFrog LeapPad 3 Learning Tablet ReviewLeapFrog LeapPad 3 Learning Tablet ReviewAfter having so much fun with the art studio with all Millie's problems ended up getting tired so asked if I could put a video on for her. I had already bought a series of Bubble Guppies for her as she just loves that show. At around £5 you get an 69 minute video of 3 episodes I did find the price a little high as you can get the Dvd for around £3-5 with more on!

LeapFrog LeapPad 3 Learning Tablet ReviewNot sure how they work the pricing out of the Videos as personally find them pricey for the amount of episode you get.
But it did keep her happy and relaxed even got her to sleep which for Millie is a bonus as with her Hydrocephalus, she does dot produce the hormone Melatonin in her brain this is what get us all off to sleep but with Millie she has so have medication to make that effect.

Comparing the LeapPad3 to the old version their has been many new elements to this one faster and more affective.I have noticed the the ultra version from what I have read you get a bigger screen but to be quit honest very happy with the 5-inch screen.

The Play Value

My daughter has gotten a lot of fun and enjoyment out of the LeapPad3 as it engages your child's mind to think and respond. Not only are kids learning but having fun at the same time.

Longevity -

Once my daughter got into the swing of using the LeapPad I have to say she spend a good 30 minutes watching a few of the videos I had downloaded. The next morning she was sure asking “Hmmm mommy may I play again on my new toy”LeapPad3  earning tablet will give her help and enjoyment for years to come.
And the educational value for this device is mind blowing  from learning how to write to counting.Build QualityPutting the item together was not a problem to be honest it was very easy even to downloading the LeapPad applications and installing them this part is for adults to do. My daughter now knows how to switch the tablet off & on. The main piece "tablet" is very well built, but came to a problem with the stylus as my daughter got it wet and all the paint started to flake off was disappointed as it had at the time only been used for round an hour.My Overall Impressions-Compared with the previous models  I have been very impressed with the amount of applications for this device so many to choose from for a wide age range, also screen size is perfect and you get excellent pictures from the screen better than I thought it was going to be.Love the feature of the camera.
I had to knock a point down as encountered problems with the stylus putting that aside the main tablet seems to be more hardwearing, with a built-in shock absorbing design.
Good to know that it has a pre-approved library  as the table can go onto the internet, but only has certain images and videos so no need to worry that your kids have come across something bad.Kid-safe Wi-Fi-Kid-Safe Web Experience
Play for 7 hours with the rechargeable built-in lithium battery.

High-performance fun

LeapPad3 is a high-performance Wi-Fi tablet with the fastest, most powerful quad-core processor and a sleek new design

VTech Vs LeapFrog

In our household we bought VTech InnoTab when it first came out and was very disappointed as it did not do much compared to the LeapPads. As found the InnoTab to look more kid -like I know its for kids but my I say "babyish" with the LeapPad I think they have the design much more stylish.
Value for money lets just put aside the apps ect for one minute and look at the what you get as a kit, think its very well priced to say its not long been out if you put the apps and so on it can come to a far penny but its not like you or the kids will be wanting to buy each day so its not too bad.
4 out of 5 star rating
LeapFrog LeapPad 3 Learning Tablet Review

Would of given it 5 stars but came across the paint flaking off the stylus
