Today I'll be doing a comparative post of my favorite kohl ~ Lakme Eyeconic with the newly launched ~ L'Oreal Magique Kajal. Recently L'Oreal has too joined the bandwagon by recently launching their supreme black Kajal. Price :

Packaging : black and turquoise packaging makes it very stylish and the sleek black retractable/twist up pen form saves the product from sharpening and hence no wastage. The overall packaging is very attractive.
Texture/Pigmentation :smooth and creamy, easily glides on the waterline without tugging. It is nicely pigmented and black, not jet black though. It dries to a matte finish after few seconds of application. For the color to show up, you have to swipe the kohl 2-3 times on your waterline. It sets into a smudge-proof and water-proof finish within few seconds of application. However, you have to be quick if you want to smudge or soften it. My eyes to tend to become watery, but still it doesn't smudge to give me raccoon eyes. Staying Power : stays on my waterline for good 10 hours with minimal fading. I prefer using this on my upper line and further smudge it for longevity of eye shadow. I have the most sensitive eyes, and it doesn't sting my eyes nor I got allergic.
Removal : It comes of fairly easily with oil/cream based makeup remover. I use my favorite Revlon eye and lip cream makeup remover. 2 swipes and the Kohl is completely removed.

Packaging : comes in black and fuchsia retractable pencil form. I absolutely love the metallic embossing in it. As it is twist up liner, hence no sharpening and no wastage. The kohl is classy and travel friendly.
Texture/Pigmentation : soft and creamy, but will not easily tug. It is not jet black but equally pigmented like the Lakme Eyeconic Kajal. You need to swipe it 4-5 times for the intensity of color on waterline.
Staying Power : stays on my waterline for 6 hours with minimal fading. it sets into a smudge-proof and water-proof finish else prolonging the wear time to 6 hours. It certainly does not last the 12 hour claim rather it stays for only 6+ hours but on my sister's oily lids it stays for good 9 hours.
Removal : I need to rub hard with the same Revlon eye and lip makeup remover. You'll need 10 swipes for the complete removal of kajal from your eye lid.

Final Verdict
I prefer Lakme eyeconic kohl more than L'Oreal Paris magique kajal. Priced Rs 199 for Lakme eyeconic is pretty cheap than L'Oreal magique priced Rs 245. Both are in a retractable/twist up pen form with attractive packaging. Both the liners are soft and creamy without tugging. The Kohl's set in a smudge-proof and waterproof finish.
