Lafine is back at it again with their Vegetable line of skin care products and this time around I'm reviewing the Vegetable Deep Cleansing Cream. If you have missed out, here are my previous reviews on the Lafine Vegetable Massage Cream and the Vegetable Foam Cleansing.
The Vegetable Deep Cleansing Cream is slightly different in packaging than the other Lafine Vegetable products in the line since this has a green tub and the other ones I've tried has white packaging. I've seen a different packaging online for the Vegetable Foam Cleansing as well so this might be their newer packaging for the items in the line.
Same with the Vegetable Massage Cream, it comes with a spatula that is great both for scooping out the right amount of product and for sanitary reasons.
There's a ton of product in this tub, 6.76 oz (200 ml) which is so worth it if you do get this product since it is priced at 17,000 KW ($17). On Amazon, it is priced at $25.99 with free shipping which I think is still a good price.
The Lafine Vegetable Deep Cleansing Cream is made from carrots, cucumbers, parsley, water parsley and tomatoes. Like all the other products I've tried from the line, you can see red and green granules that has the nutrients for your skin and at the same time help you exfoliate.
This Vegetable Deep Cleansing Cream is marketed like a makeup remover and massage cream in one since it aims to remove makeup while you massage your face.
To use, scoop an adequate amount and massage on your face for 1-2 minutes until the granules melt. Wipe with a tissue and double cleanse with your favorite cleanser.
This feels so soothing on the skin and quite relaxing. I love giving my face a good massage.
I wiped off the product with paper towel as instructed and it took out 90% of my makeup and I'm left with waterproof eyeliner residue.
I double cleansed with the Lafine Vegetable Foam Cleansing and it took off 99% of what's left on my skin. I had to run a cotton bud on my upper and lower lash line to take off the waterproof eyeliner since there's still a bit of residue there.
I am not completely sold on this product for two reasons. One, it doesn't completely take off waterproof makeup. I really only wear waterproof eyeliner and mascara so it would have been amazing if this product took that off completely. Second, you would need to double cleanse after using this deep cleansing cream. It would have been more practical and more efficient if this would be a deep cleansing cream that removes makeup, cleanses and washes off with water. That way, it would eliminate the need of double cleansing while being able to remove your makeup and completely cleansing the skin.
This product adds an unnecessary step to an already long skin care routine of mine. Although I really love massaging my face, it is such a hassle to deal with wiping the product off, and then double cleansing and then cleaning the eyes for residue. I would rather take a makeup remover cloth and take off my makeup and then head straight to cleanser.
This is not a bad product and I can still see myself using it on days where I want to give myself the spa treatment. It is also something that I will use during those days where I've only been wearing light makeup since I wouldn't have to deal with eyeliner and mascara residue.
I'll give this product a 3.5 out of 5. This actually works really well with the Lafine Vegetable Foam Cleansing and together, they do make quite a combo - just don't use a waterproof eyeliner and mascara that day and everything else will be cleansed and your face will be hydrated.
*This product was sent to me for review but as always, my reviews are honest and based on my own opinions and experience.
