Kiehl’s Summer Treat

Kiehl’s Summer Treat

The summer treat from Kiehl’s came in just at the right time as I really cannot stand the weather anymore. It’s like freaking 34 degree Celsius most of the time? What I need now is a set of skincare that’s light weight and won’t break me out. Kiehls seem to be a good option. This sweet package included some beauty samples and after trying them, I really feel like getting the full size products!

Kiehl’s Summer Treat

The package includes: ultra facial oil-free gel cream, ultra light daily UV defense, Amino Acid Conditioner and Shampoo, Actively Correcting & beautifying BB cream, Delux Hand & Body Lotion and also ultra facial oil-free gel cleanser which was used up and thrown away by mom. -.-

Kiehl’s Summer Treat

Both the Amino Acid Shampoo and Conditioner contains Pure Coconut and Jojoba Oils. Actually, I don’t like the smell of Coconut Oil but I wouldn’t mind using them if they are really good for my hair. This shampoo is silicone-free, SLS free and paraben free! YAY to that! It is hard to find hair products without silicone as silicone is what makes the hair shiny and smooth. The downside is that it prevents the hair from getting moisture. Needless to say, SLS dries the hair out.

So I was really curious to find out how the hair products work since I’ve seen it in my cousin’s bathroom, yet I’m skeptical about it cos Khiels are supposedly a skincare company?

My verdict (after one trial)
It works!! Amazingly, my hair didn’t felt dry using the shampoo alone. And when paired with the conditioner, the hair was smooth and shiny enough! I don’t know why, but the hair is really looking good. Also, my scalp doesn’t itch and I find that it actually balances my scalp. The only downside is probably the price tag.

Kiehl’s Summer Treat

This BB cream comes in two colours and I got mine in Fair which is the lightest shade. It has a broad SPF spectrum and also contains Vitamin C that helps to even out skintone. The sun is our enemy. I’m always into whitening during the summer times.

Kiehl’s Summer Treat

The BB cream has a yellow undertone that flatters most Asians.

Kiehl’s Summer Treat

It is of a thick and creamy texture but it is also easy to blend them out.

My Verdict (after 3 trials)
This BB cream has a medium coverage. It evens out the skintone and erase imperfections such as large pores and blemishes and gives a somewhat air-brushed effect. Does not look too shiny or too matte. However, the color looks a little ashy when I first applied. The color looks okay after it has settled down on the skin. It is also slightly sticky but goes away after awhile.

This hand and body lotion is one of my favorite in the package. Sorry I forgot to take picture of the product itself.

My verdict (After a week’s trial)
it contains Aloe Vera and Oatmeal which are really good for sensitive skin and are able to to calm and soothe the skin. It comes out in a light cream texture which is very easy to blend and perfect for the summer weather.

Sunscreen is always needed.

My verdict (after 1 trial)
This sunscreen is lightweight and easily absorbed. It leaves a slight white cast that doesn’t bothers me that much. It also has a matte finishing that is perfect to be applied under makeup.

Last, but not least, the oil free gel cream.

Verdict (after two trials)
It is light-weight and easily absorbed by the skin. Doesn’t leave behind any sticky feeling and felt cooling on the skin. The only thing is I felt that it is too light on my skin. I need something more moisturizing nowadays.

Two other items here (forgot to take picture -.-)
Oil-free gel cleanser: Skin feels clean and refreshed. Skin does not feel tight after wash. A good cleanser imo.
Oil-free toner: Neutral about this but it does not contain Alcohol and is hydrating enough for the skin.
