June Empties + No Buy Update

Hello lovelies,

what a match (USA vs. Belgium). It is a shame that both teams couldn’t pass to the next round. Still, it was a pleasure to watch, so I don’t regret staying up late.

Even though it doesn’t seem like it, I didn’t spend a lot of stuff in June. I hope that means that July will be much better. I did, however, manage to make quite a dent in my perfume samples.

Let’s start with make-up.

june empties 2

First is Sisley Tinted moisturizer sample. Several years ago I really loved this tinted moisturizer, but the emergence of BB creams has changed my opinion. Now I find it too basic – almost non-existent coverage and no other skincare benefits besides being moisturizing. In my opinion, it is definitely not worth the money.

I don’t remember that I ever had such a love-hate relationship as the one with Uriage Bariesun Sunscreen. When I first got it I loved it. It had its flaws, but overall I found it worked for me. Fast forward to today and I hate it – it never properly set on my face, it was sticky and greasy. I know that I won’t repurchase it.

L’Occitane Shea Butter Lip balm is not too bad, although I didn’t like the way it wouldn’t sink into my lips. It was moisturizing, but I won’t repurchase it as I have a bunch of better balms.

I’ve bought Look by Bipa special effect nail polish in Metallic Hologram before I was into nail polish – back then it was a very unique reddish brown – green duochrome. I liked it so much that I even got a second bottle. I decided to spend one (it was already half empty) to make some room in my enormous nail polish collection (I think I’m approaching to 500 nail polishes). Plus I needed an empty bottle because I want to try my hand at making a coloured version of Amazeballz.

Sisley Lyslait cleansing milk – I like it, but too expensive.

L’Occitane Shea Butter Ultra Rich Shower cream is a nice option for those with dry/irritated skin. It is very soothing, gentle and moisturizing. These are the properties which make it my favourite in winter, so I definitely might buy it again.

L’Occitane Shea Butter Foot Cream – I still think it is not that moisturizing. It is a nice cream, but I doubt it would help super dry and cracked skin. I still might purchase the full size if I want to pamper myself (although I would like to try Clarins foot cream first).

Caudalie Cleansing Water is Caudalie’s version of micelle water. It is nice, but it is not strong enough to remove heavy make-up. I still like Bioderma better.

Kerastase Homme Capital Force shampoo (2x) reminded me why I hate Kerastase shampoos. It is absolutely horrible – it didn’t cleanse my hair well and at the same time it dried out the ends. I definitely won’t repurchase it. I won’t even take it as a free sample with order on feelunique.

Redken Diamond Oil conditioner is something that I will look into once I spend all my Kerastase stuff. It was pretty rich and moisturizing – perfect for my coarse, thick hair.

Nuxe Nuxellence Jeunesse is a nice moisturizer – I’d say for normal to slightly dry skin. I didn’t use it long enough to determine its efficiency, but for the short period I did, it didn’t cause problems.

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse is a very nice smelling dry oil. I definitely know that I prefer its smell to the smell of Caudalie, but the sample was too small to decide whether I like its performance more. I have another mini bottle, so hopefully this will help me decide.

Nuxe Crème Prodigieuse Nuit really surprised me because the day version of this cream is pretty light. This, on the other hand, is super thick. You need a lot because it doesn’t spread easily. It is very moisturizing – probably one of the best I’ve tried so far and this is the reason I might purchase it, although I dislike the scent.

I’ve gone throught a bunch of fragrance samples – Givenchy Amarige Marriage and Very Irresistible, Bvlgari Eau The Rouge (the weirdest scent ever), Moschino I Love Love, Oriflame More by Demi, Versace Bright Crystal Absolu (I rather like it – it’s not a state-of-art, but it is a nice summery, fruity floral scent), Moschino Light Clouds and again Moschino I Love Love.

The last item is Caudalie Polyphenol C15 Detox oil which I might repurchase. The sample was really small (plus I spilled half of it) so I only got to use it three times. It made my skin radiant and it added extra moisture. It is pretty thick oil, but I like the effect it had on my skin those few times I used it.

JUNE TOTAL

FULL SIZE: 2

MINI: 7

SAMPLE: 14

2014 TOTAL

FULL SIZE: 33

MINI: 41

SAMPLE: 54

Wow, I really like looking at those numbers – over 100 product used up in the first six months (though, to be honest, I’ve probably bought twice as much).

June no-buy was slightly anticlimactic – I didn’t want anything so much so it all went without a problem. I’m planning to get myself a little treat (bareMinerals have launched a palette I want and I’m considering getting their Ready foundation and maybe Bautybay the collection or Makeup Revolution palette), but I’m still not sure what to get. I think it might be smarter to save money for Feelunique summer sale. We’ll see.

Thank you for reading,

xoxo Tamara
