With the Johnson's adult range often being overshadowed by it's baby range I was pleased to attend the Johnson's Adult Face Care event to learn more about the line. I too must admit I have always seen Johnson's skincare as a 'baby brand' so I was pleasantly surprised to learn and experiment with the adult skincare range.
Johnson's first released their 'Daily Essentials' range back in 1995 with the iconic pH 5.5 wash- I remember my Mum being a big fan of this back in the day! The theory underpinning the cleanser is based on the average acidity level of healthy skin so as to not disrupt the natural skin barrier. Johnson's still continue this original premise in their new adult range.The range is targeted at women under 30 (so myself!) with no major skin concerns- those who just need a simple yet effective cleanser.
Now that I've had a chance to try the line here are my thoughts on the products...
I will start off with my favorite products from the range, the Facial Cleansing Wipes have been great for removing my makeup at the end of the day. I am someone who suffers from very sensitive eyes and will react quite strongly to anything with a heavy scent. These wipes are fantastic at removing all my makeup (including mascara) and don't irritate my eyes one little bit!
My next favorite from the range has been the Refreshing Gel Wash- this cleanser has been working well in combination with my Clarisonic and hasn't caused any irritation or breakout. I have found the Gel Cleanser works much better for me than the Nourishing Cream Cleanser. I generally don't like cream cleansers I find that for my normal-combination skin type they are a little too heavy.
The Gentle Exfoliating Wash is good if you like a very gentle exfoliant- for me I prefer to use my Clarisonic as my exfoliating step however this would work well for those who have very dry and sensitive skin types.
Lastly the Moisturising Day Cream- I believe this is a real standout product for the line! It is such a beautiful light day cream with only a light fragrance this has been working wonders for me. I have been using it both day and night and it works equally as well under makeup for day or over a serum at night.
