These days, one simply isn’t enough – you got to take two to really get your money’s worth. Like a Kit Kat; in order to have a real break, you got to have at least two… or nine. But sweet analogies aside, if you read my previous post about amazing island destinations in Australia for digital detox but didn’t quite find an island fit for you yet; you’re in luck. Here’s my part two. And what’s best, these three islands are nothing short of stunning. Read on and be prepared for some awe-inspiring moments.

First up on the list is Lord Howe Island. This interesting crescent-shaped paradise is an award-winning World Heritage listed island located in the Tasman Sea, less than two hours flight from Brisbane, Sydney or Port Macquarie. Trust me, the two hours of flying (even if you’re beside a crying baby) will be totally worth it. From hand-feeding fish at Neds Beach and climbing the glorious Mount Gower to snorkeling and stand-up paddle boarding in the deep blue waters, you are welcomed to a place where emails and deadlines don’t exist.

But where is the best place to stay after experiencing the island’s mesmerising views and splendor? Well my lovelies, there’s no place like Pinetrees Lodge. Aside from being the biggest and best lodge in the island, Pinetrees delivers exquisitely prepared meals and beverages, quaint accommodation with waterfront views of Lagoon Beach, spa treatments as well as awesome water and guided activities. Their staff and island visitors are so friendly and hospitable, it literally feels like you’re on holiday with your friends and family – now that’s a true feeling of community and being connected without Wifi!

If I had to be stuck in an island for the rest of my life and got to choose which island that would be, I’d definitely choose Bruny Island. Why? There aren’t many places in the world where you can find hand-made fudge, exquisite chocolate and mouth-watering truffles made by friendly locals. And if it were up to me, I would have named this paradise Brownie Island instead! Located off the southeastern coast of Tasmania, you’ll find a deceptively large island (approximately 100 kilometers in length) that offers its visitors a genuine wilderness experience accompanied by delicious food and wine. Bruny Island has a North and South Island, where the northern side is mostly made up of wide pastures whereas the southern island is hilly and richly forested.

To get a full 360-degree experience of these islands, I’d highly recommend Bruny Cruises. In fact, what’s on my wish list right now is the three-hour Wilderness Cruise that departs daily from Adventure Bay on Bruny Island. The three-hour cruise invites you to see the most incredible wildlife – from fur seals and white wallabies, to fairy penguins and bird watching. And if you’re an avid or aspiring travel photographer like me, make sure you pack a handy digital camera with you – Bruny Island has copious picturesque sceneries, most of them untouched! With a population of less than 700, don’t be afraid to explore and really connect with the natural beauty of Bruny with a fudge and truffle in each hand!

You’ll be jumping for joy as soon as you step on Kangaroo Island. Why? Aside from being the fourth major tourism icon that attracts over 140,000 tourists a year, you get a true feeling of freedom and happiness. Imagine an island surrounded by pristine beaches, an island where fresh produce is always on sight and happy faces greet you everyday; is there anywhere else you’d rather be?

As a self-confessed glamour girl, I may seem a bit opposed to camping or staying outside. Nevertheless, the best way to experience this magical island is by camping; and if you want to glam it up a bit, we can call this glamping! From comfortable tents with all you need to wilderness lodges such as the luxurious Southern Ocean Lodge, there’s no better way to look at the stars and take in the scent of fresh air with your sweet peas. Each region in this large island has its unique quirks and qualities. Whether you want to go on an adventure searching for underground caves, or meet curious local koalas,  Australian birds and penguins on the beach – your stay will be pinned in your heart forever!

So tell me dear travelettos, are you ready to book your digital detox getaway at one of these magnificent destinations? Are there any other beautiful islands in Australia that you think should make my top list? A digital detox holiday shows there’s a beautiful life well beyond the surface of our computer screens and iPads. A life of adventure, a life of fun, and a life where there is truly #nofilter!

Until next time, keep exploring.
