Ginger-Cardamom Tea
Ginger Cardamom Tea is my favorite though I usually prefer Masala tea.
I love to have a cup of hot Ginger Cardamom tea in the evening this is a great way to relax and refresh.Adding cardamom and ginger is a great way to make the tea delicious.
Indian Ginger-Cardamom Tea /Adrak-Elaichi Chai Recipe

Ingredients:
- 3.5 cups water
- 1.5 teaspoon black tea leaves
- 2- inch ginger
- 4 whole cardamoms pods
- 1 cup
- Sugar to taste
Preparation:
- Peel and wash thoroughly the piece of ginger.
- Crush the ginger and cardamom pods together in a mortar and pestle.
Method:
- Add the water in a pan on medium flame.
- Add ginger and crushed cardamom with the peel in the water.
- Boil this water-ginger-cardamom mixture for 5 minutes or till the color of the water changes into a mild yellowish.
- Now, add the tea leaves and simmer for about 2 minutes till the water gets a deep hue of red.
- Add sugar and simmer for a more of 2 minutes.
- Add milk and then simmer for a minute or two.
- Strain the tea through a strainer and serve it.
- Serve the hot ginger cardamom tea with snacks like pakoras, biscuits or cookies.
Note:
- Add the tea leaves to the water only when it has come to a boil.
- You can skip adding the sugar while making the tea.
