Ginger-Cardamom Tea

Ginger Cardamom Tea is my favorite though I usually prefer Masala tea. 

I love to have a cup of hot Ginger Cardamom tea in the evening this is a great way to relax and refresh.
Adding cardamom and ginger is a great way to make the tea delicious.

Main Ingredients: milk, Ginger and Cardamom.

Ingredients:

  • 3.5 cups water
  • 1.5 teaspoon black tea leaves
  • 2- inch ginger 
  • 4 whole cardamoms pods
  • 1 cup  
  • Sugar to taste

Preparation:

  • Peel and wash thoroughly the piece of ginger.
  • Crush the ginger and cardamom pods together in a mortar and pestle.

Method:

  1. Add the water in a pan on medium flame.
  2. Add ginger and crushed cardamom with the peel in the water.
  3. Boil this water-ginger-cardamom mixture for 5 minutes or till the color of the water changes into a mild yellowish.
  4. Now, add the tea leaves and simmer for about 2 minutes till the water gets a deep hue of red.
  5. Add sugar and simmer for a more of 2 minutes.
  6. Add milk and then simmer for a minute or two.
  7. Strain the tea through a strainer and serve it.
  8. Serve the hot ginger cardamom tea with snacks like pakoras, biscuits or cookies.

Note:

  • Add the tea leaves to the water only when it has come to a boil.
  • You can skip adding the sugar while making the tea.
