India has 166 national parks and 515 wildlife reserves that makes India a heaven for wildlife lovers. These different wildlife parks houses various species of flora and fauna and some of the wildlife reserve hosts migratory species of birds which makes India a heaven for bird watchers as well.

Here is a list of some wildlife parks and reserves that blooms with the presence of seasonal migratory birds which can be visited during wildlife vacations in India

Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary (Bharatpur, Rajasthan)

The Bharatpur bird sanctuary houses more than 380 migratory and resident bird species including the Common, Demoiselle and the rare Siberian Cranes. This National park is also known as the Keoladeo National park where Keoladeo is derived from the Keoladeo temple of Hindu God Shiva.

Nalsarovar Bird Sanctuary (Gujarat)

The Nalsarovar Bird Sanctuary of Gujarat is well known for 200 species of resident and migratory bird species that inhabit Nalsarovar lake. Some of the birds fly from Siberia to visit this lake. Species like rosy pelicans, lesser and greater flamingos, crakes, brahminy ducks, purple moorhen, herons, white storks, various species of bitterns, grebes etc can be spotted in the lake. 

Chilka Lake Sanctuary (Odisha)

This bird sanctuary is located in the south western side of Puri houses various migratory and local birds including Flamingo, White Bellied Sea Eagle, Brahminy Kite, Spotbilled Pelican, Barheaded Goose, Openbilled Stork, Spoonbill, Brahimny Duck, Wigeon, Pintail, Shoveller, Ibis, Stilt, Heron, Egret, Avocet, Gull, Tern and King Fisher etc.

Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary (Kerala)

 This beautiful bird evergreen sanctuary is a paradise for bird watchers that houses resident and migratory species of aves such as waterfowl, cuckoo, owl, egret, heron and the water duck, as well as the migratory Siberian cranes, Parrots, teal, larks, flycatchers, wood beetle that can be witnessed with wildlife packages India.

The most preferred time to visit these bird sanctuaries is from October to March, and do not forget to bring your binocular during jungle safari. Bird watching can be a hard task and you might have to spend a few hours in search of birds. Try to  wear comfortable clothes and shoes and bring some water with you as well for a hassle free jungle safari.
