Job Description

The Role:

We are currently seeking a highly motivated, results oriented and experienced Image Analyst to add to our Remote Sensing team. The successful individual will possess a strong understanding of geospatial and digital image processing technologies and will work within the team to provide support and creative solutions related to digital imagery analysis and classification, spatial data management, cartography, process automation and quality control for a variety of projects. The ideal candidate will have experience using several software packages, including PCI Geomatica, ENVI, ERDAS Imagine, Esri, and open source geospatial software.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of practical experience with (an) image analysis platform(s), as well as ArcGIS
• Master’s or PhD degree in Remote Sensing, GIS or Natural Resources (lesser qualifications may be considered)
• Knowledge of airborne and satellite image theory, processing and analysis is essential
• Experience working with LiDAR
• Experience with PCI Geomatica
• Experience with ENVI
• Experience with ERDAS Imagine is an asset
• Experience with eCognition is an asset
• Experience with ArcGIS extensions (Spatial Analyst and 3D Analyst) is an asset
• Experience with scripting/programming languages (Python, EASI, IDL) is an asset
