Simon McGrath, Chief Operating Officer of Accor Pacific & Winner Bethany Everitt

Last week I was happy to attend the announcement of the winner of the "Style Our Threads" competition. This is a competition I have been following on Click Your Heels since the beginning so I was very excited to be there for the winners to be unveiled.
Two fashion students from the Whitehouse Institute of Design, have been selected to design new uniforms for hotel staff following a public vote on Facebook to choose the winning designs. Bethany Everitt, a final year student, will design both the ibis Styles and ibis Budget uniforms while Sarah Millar, a final year student will design the new ibis uniforms after winning the ibis category. The uniforms will now be produced and unveiled in hotels across the country next year.

Bethany and Sarah will now work with Accor to progress a sample of their uniform designs through the manufacturing process including working with ibis staff across the business to gather feedback on design elements, wear, comfort and practicalities.
In addition to being given the opportunity to design uniforms, Bethany was also crowned the overall winner of the competition and Accor is providing her with one month’s tuition in Italy studying at the Academia Italiana Florence Fashion School. Bethany, along with the runner-up will also receive a three-month mentorship with fashion designer Charlie Brown.
