Good evening Beautiful,This day, well, wasn’t terribly productive to say the least. I have no idea why but when I woke up I was completely exhausted. Not exactly the best way to start the day. It took me a long time to get out of bed, the worst part of it all was that we had to leave the house about half an hour earlier than normal this morning because C had to be at a meeting for work and had to drop me off at the office first. So I got to work around 8am, put my stuff on/in my desk and went back upstairs to get a coffee before I even turned my computer on. I climb the what seems to be thousands of stairs (it’s about 15) to get to the GoodLife restaurant (yes, GoodLife does have a restaurant at its North York Parkview location…) only to find that it doesn’t open until 8:30am. WTF! I almost started crying. I walked out of the restaurant with my head hung low and my feet dragging. The morning went by somewhat quickly. Every morning I have to submit all of my membership requests to our home office before 11am (keep in mind, I manage about 400 different company accounts, some days the membership requests are insane) so that usually passes the time quickly. The afternoon however, that was a different story. I usually eat my lunch at 1pm or 2pm depending on how hungry I am and let my food digest for an hour (and it gives me time to drink even more coffee and get me pumped up) and then I workout at either 2pm or 3pm. Today, I ate at 12pm and worked out at 1pm only so I could get away from my desk and my computer. I decided to do another CrossFit workout today, and I picked Angie. The workout is for time, so you need to do it as fast as you possibly can, or however fast you’re willing to go until all reps are complete. You need to complete 100 pull-ups, 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups and 100 squats. I had never done a CrossFit workout requiring equipment (with the exception of a skipping rope) in my normal gym before so I had to figure out how to set it up so no one would steal my equipment. The only piece of equipment I needed was the Gravitron machine. Basically, it’s a machine that assists you when doing pull-ups, so that you can gradually get stronger and eventually have nothing helping you. Usually I put 80lbs on the machine, so my body weight, minus the 80lbs of help means that I’m usually lifting about 70-75 lbs for 3 sets of 10 reps. Today, I knew I needed more help because I couldn’t just drain myself in the first few sets so I put the machine on 100lbs which means I was lifting 50lbs through the workout.I finished the 10 sets of 10reps of each exercise in 19:40. My goal was under 20 minutes so I was good! I didn’t end up getting somewhat tired when doing pull-ups until the last couple of sets, so next time I’m going to take off some help so I’m lifting more. I did all of my push-ups on my knees, I think next time I’m going to start by doing them on my toes and then go down to my knees when I get tired. The sit-ups I modified into crunches and the squats I did how I was supposed to. I kept all of my stuff on the Gravitron and placed a mat beside the machine so that everyone knew I had basically stolen the machine from everyone for 20 minutes. Oh well… I was really sweaty at the end so I decided to get on the elliptical machine (I still have my shin splint – no running!) and give’er. I went super hard for 10 minutes and raised the level of sweatiness significantly. It felt amazing. I miss running – I feel like without all my running that I’m getting chubby. This is not the case in reality, but for you runners you can relate to how I’m feeling. This post is going to be relatively short because I need to go get ready! I got invited to a girls night at my friend Marina’s condo to drink wine and watch The Bachelorette. I purchased some treats for everyone (there’s 4 of us) so thank god I did my workout…. And thank god I’ve planned two workouts for tomorrow (including beach volleyball). Au revoir mon ami! (oh ya – I speak French… did you know? JUST KIDDING. I just asked C how to say AND spell what I just wrote. I should have 1. Listened in my French classes and 2. Taken more French classes. I was a silly youth.)Stay sweet.
