Life really is just one great round of pleasure these days. I suppose it's something to do with the remarkable Summer we're enjoying 'over here'. However, today should be rather special because we are celebrating the 50th wedding anniversary of a couple who are very old and dear friends. So, we are hosting them on a trip to Bath and lunch at The Priory, than which, my dears, one simply cannot get any posher! Then it's off to The Theatre Royal for a performance of Hay Fever by Noel Coward. Needless to say, the cast in general, and the actor playing the role of David Bliss in particular, have much to live up up to because, ahem, I once played the part, a performance which is still spoken of in hushed whispers, er, very hushed because I've never actually heard them! Anyway, in this production the delightful and delicious Felicity Kendall is playing the monstrous Judith Bliss so it should be fun. I never cared much for Coward's work until I took part in Hay Fever. Then my eyes were opened! Beneath all that silly, upper-class chatter there was deadly acid - funny but acid!
See you all later . . .
