” i Loved the Food”

By Dietdoctor @DietDoctor1

This year over people have signed up for free guidance, meal plans, recipes, shopping lists, troubleshooting tips, etc., via the two-week low-carb challenge.

What could happen if you were to take it? Here's feedback from this week (and note, this is the FINAL WEEK to sign up for our first low-carb challenge!).

I really enjoyed the challenge and I lost about 6 kg (13 lbs). This is very nice job you guys are doing, and the meals are really good. But after these two weeks I feel kind of lost, because I don't have a meal plan. I will just pick some good-looking recipes and plan the week. It would be really nice if you could have some calendar feature that members can add recipe to so it is easier to plan the week. Also, it would be great if you could add a recipe to favorites or some kind of list so you can keep the recipes that you really like just a few clicks away :)

I will continue on this new diet, or rather lifestyle, because it is working, and the food is really good.

Best Regards,
Andri

Thanks, Andreas! I think this is an eating lifestyle I can enjoy unlike so many others I have tried. During the challenge I did cheat twice - first at a birthday dinner for my daughter. She chose a sushi restaurant and I could find nothing suitable on the menu, so I settled for teriyaki chicken which tasted great but must have had a lot of sugar in it. The second was a family pizza party at my house. I made both kinds of pizza: original and low carb. Although I ate the LCHF pizza I did drink some wine which caused me to gain back a little over a pound. Now I know I better just wait on the wine until I get closer to my goal. I did lose 5.8 lbs (3 kg), so I am excited. Even my generally skeptical husband is giving this a try.

My ancestry is Swedish. My paternal grandparents were from the Gothenburg area, so it is a real pleasure to follow your work. I wish you the best in changing how the world thinks about dietary health. Keep up the good work!

Gratefully,
Joan

Hello Dr. Eenfeldt, I have just completed the two-week challenge! It was an amazing two weeks and has hopefully inspired a change in my life. I was on the brink of a T2 diagnosis and after I broke down crying, my doctor recommended we try the ketogenic diet and recommended starting with the Diet Doctor website. I embraced the idea of reversing the lifetime debilitating disease and went into the program motivated!

The results were amazing, I lost 18 lbs (8 kg)! I came through it with a very positive attitude and excited to see how far I can go with the program. The beginning with the keto flu was very rough! As you are probably fully aware with your experience I will not go into details. The menu was excellent but I did find a lot of food way too "rich" in the beginning especially when I was experiencing a very upset stomach. While simple and straight forward, meal prep every night got a little tiresome. Having just a couple nights of steak and broccoli would have been a nice easy break from the involved cooking. My fiber intake also seemed low I might suggest highlighting the meal add ons (i.e. salad etc.) a little more.

Overall, it was a great success and you and your team played a large part in changing my life! I look forward to continuing on keto and will continue to pull out my favorite recipes from the program from time to time.

All the best,
Rick

For starters, I'm so happy I found your site. I was diagnosed with high blood pressure which my doctor feels is stress and weight related as I am perfectly health in all other ways. He recommended a low-carb diet high in proteins and fats. The two-week challenge was just what I needed. I was amazed at how fun and easy the recipes were and they all taste great!

My whole family enjoyed trying all the new flavors. For me personally, there was just to much food... one recipe's leftovers, just cooking them exactly as shown, lasted me two and three days. I was able to freeze lots of things and could go another month on just the first two weeks' worth of menus. Not sure if that's normal or not, but it is kind of nice that I actually don't have to cook for myself for a while. I did find it hard to deal with being around others at work eating fast food and junk but my weight loss results helped get me through. I'm happy to say I have lost 20 pounds and plan to continue with this plan for a few more weeks. Is there a certain point when you have to add more carbs? I find that while 20 carbs a day is restrictive, I am perfectly satisfied and even happier with the results!

Thanks for showing me just how easy this all can be.

Sincerely,
Alanna

I really needed this kick start. I am learning so much from your website. Thank you. As of today (approx 2½ weeks), I have lost 11 lbs (5 kg).

Gloria

This was the best thing ever!!! I LOVED THE FOOD, my family even loved the food, my grandson especially. It reminded me how my grandparents used to eat cheese, cold cuts, herring, sardines on a plate. Never thought eating fat would make me so happy and that losing fat of 10 pounds (4.5 kg) would even make me more happy but all and all everybody says I'm a happier person.

My blood sugar went down in three days, it definitely went from 200 down to 108 and stayed steady all day long... When I went shopping, all the sugary foods I could pass by very easily, when other people would eat dessert I had no interest whatsoever. That's just is totally amazing.

I have signed up for your website three months ago. I kind of would look at the recipes and listen to the videos but the two-week challenge, really just I took it to the limit and did it to the tea, easy following. I want to really thank you. I will continue this journey of fat-loving food.

Janice

Hello,

Starting the LCHF lifestyle was an adjustment at first for sure but I am happy to say that I have lost 10 pounds (4.5 kg) in my two-week challenge. The ease of eating that way makes it something that I will definitely try to continue for the rest of my life. I have tried everything under the sun to lose weight to only quit and gain it all back and then some.

I have not made it to that feel good and energized day yet so I am still tired and dragging a little bit but luckily no keto flu. I have not measured my body yet but I will do so soon because I know I have lost inches just by how my clothes are fitting. I am so glad that I came across your website and decided to give it a try. Happy Losing!!!!!

Dana

I just completed the two-week challenge and will be beginning week three. I lost 8 lbs (4 kg) in two weeks, and was never hungry. Had to deal with several cravings (sweets and potato products) but it's getting easier. I really can't believe I'm having success with such a painless diet. The recipes are very good to excellent, and the daily emails and menu planners, and weekly shopping lists have been so helpful.

I certainly will be staying on the LCHF diet, although I will certainly miss the daily e-mails. Glad you sent out week three for us to use.

Thanks to you for giving me a diet that truly works and will be easy to stick with far in the future. My goal of 30 lbs (14 kg) lost is still out there in the future, but with your plan I am sure I can make it!

Terry

Hello All,

The most difficult aspect of the two-week LCHF challenge was believing these recipes were on the plan! That was the biggest, and truly only, issue. I appreciated the simple, quick tasty recipes and the way they were formatted. The shopping list was a delight and being able to increase the amount per person made the two weeks effortless.

We have embraced this WOE and look forward to experimenting with IF and exploring the bountiful collection of quick, easy and nutritious recipes.

We are grateful to you Dr. Eenfeldt, and your team.

Regards,
Gina

Dear Dr. Andreas,

Thank you so much for putting this low-carb challenge together. Not only is your website very informative, but everything in it is high quality and I have to say the recipes I have tried are absolutely delicious.

I did things a little backward. I was intermittent fasting before taking your low-carb advice, and was eating whatever I wanted in my eating window. But I had hit a plateau and stopped losing weight.

I have to admit - when I first signed up for the two-week challenge, I was not a 100% committed at first and just thought I would give it a try, but by the second week, having seen the emails come through every morning, I found myself digging in on the second week. So I will go back and follow the week-1 recipes and give them a try. However, just in that one week I broke my plateau, but eating to my heart's content of all my favorite foods - butter, cream (chia pudding - WOW!!), avocados - plus all the wonderful new recipes I'm learning through your site.

I hope to keep getting recipe ideas via email, and I will probably become a member very soon.

Thanks again for giving us this great resource without all the Big Food business influence.

PS. I am about 5 pounds (2 kg) away from goal weight. And with fasting and low carb - pretty potent combination for steady weight loss, I was wondering if you have any advice on "maintenance." Losing is sometimes easier than keeping the weight off. Any advice on that would be great.

Thank you so much,
Dalia

Couldn't believe it was possible! Seems so contrary to what I thought I knew. I lost 4.5 pounds (2 kg). Good, considering that I allowed myself a glass or two of wine and a couple of plums when required which helped with constipation. I couldn't manage the boullion because I hated the salty taste. I did get legcramps but that seems to have passed. I will continue.

Thanks,
Emma

Hi there!

I have been with this kind of program for two months now and I am very happy with the results. The challenge was another step in the right direction. You have done a very good job with the recipes and all the coaching.

I have to tell you that now, after those two months, I eat more or less two meals per day and very small meals at that, and I feel great. I eat only when I am hungry and just as much as I need. Also, most of my meals are very simple and include vegetables, fats and some protein.

I have lost 8 kilos (18 lbs) and I am waiting for the end of the three months in order to have some blood tests and see how my sugar and cholesterol are doing.

Continue with the good work and thanks for sharing.

Maura

I did this diet as I saw a friend's post on Facebook that she lost 51 pounds (18 kg) and someone asked how she did it and her doctor recommended Diet Doctor. I then did a google search and decided to sign up for the two weeks.

I am happy with the results... I am down 7 pounds (3 kg) and 4 inches (10 cm) on my waist. I have had a fitbit since Christmas and walk over 10,000 steps a day and did not lose 1 pound. I have already shared your site and two more have started the diet.

The only thing I would like is a way to select a meal plan that suits me. I often just made my own meal of meat, veg and fat (cheese, pesto or mayo or olive oil.) as I didn't like the look of the recipe. It would be great to go in and select the meals and sides for a 1 week period and based on that choice a shopping list would populate.

There were a few difficult days i.e. Halloween. I have an 11-year old and a 14-year old... so the temptation was great but I didn't cheat... just had a cup of bouillon. I am less hungry now for sure... I watched your video of top 5 ways to lose weight and was intrigued by the intermittent fasting... so did it today... no breakfast and I was hungry around 11 am but waited until noon to eat.

I also like coffee and have been enjoying the whipping cream in it. I only have at most four cups a day. Do you think I need to cut the cream out, if so what would I put in my coffee? I can't imagine coconut oil being good.

I am 46 and my weight has been creeping up over the last 10 years. I am thrilled with the results of this diet and want to thank you for providing a diet where there are no pills or potions, just real food.

I like reading the boards... I had many days of not losing weight in the two weeks but the inches lost on my waist help me stay motivated.

Julie

Thanks for a great program, stumbled across the low-carb approach by accident and was fascinated from the start. I never did low-fat diets as I felt they just didn't make sense and are a form of punishment, now I know why!

It such a shame relatively few people have heard of this approach, I'm in Northern Ireland and all of my family and friends have reacted with disbelief that this diet is safe or that it will work. Or why am I putting butter in coffee? They'll soon see ;-)

Anyway, I've lost 8 lbs (4 kg) over the two weeks (86 kg - 189 lbs) and am going to continue this lifestyle indefinitely (and so I can lose a little more).

I didn't follow the two-week plan religiously but tracked my food to stick mostly to a strict keto intake. I'm loving the food and it has also made me realise I need to lower the sugar that my three year old eats.

Thank you for all of your work and efforts to promote this way of life.
Andrea
