HOW TO STAY FLAWLESS : BENEFIT COSMETICS PRODUCT REVIEW
If you’re a regular reader of my blog you will have noticed my post about the Benefit Beauty Blogger Event and Stay Flawless Launch I attended in Bristol.
If not here’s a little recap:
On the 28th May I was lucky enough to get my name down for the Benefit Event in Bristol, it was hosted at The Living Rooms, a rather sophisticated venue!
We were greeted with Champers, & food by the Benefit Girls and then had lots of fun discussing the new Stay Flawless Primer and socialising with other bloggers (Who could complain).
THE NEW PRODUCT!
*STAY FLAWLESS*
WHAT IS IT?:
It is a PRO long Primer which keeps your Make Up where it is meant to be, (On your face) for 15 hours (A makeup miracle)!
COST: £24.50
LAUNCH: This week.
HOW TO APPLY IT:
Apply directly to the face, in circular motion, and immediately work the foundation in on top!
HOW IT WORKS:
The best way to explain it is the way the Benefit Girls did for us! They gave us three magnets, (As shown below) used to show how the primer works!
The Pink magnet being the Face – And the Hello Flawless being the foundation (Obviously)
When you put these two together they don’t stick, but when the STAY FLAWLESS magnet is in the middle they don’t move! – This represents the idea that the 15 hour primer works like a magnet to lock in the foundation.
THE BENEFIT RESULTS:.
94% said it helps foundation last longer*
97% saw an improvement in the look of skin/complexion*
94% said it increased foundation coverage*
97% said it enhanced foundation’s performance*

THE REVIEW:
Now I may be admitting a bit of a beauty sin here, but I never wear foundation! I have always had it drummed in to me by my mom that I don’t need to wear it, (And Mothers know best and all that).
Foundation and primers are a new thing to me, so I don’t have much to compare it to. BUT I can promise my honest opinion.
The first time I applied it, (As you can imagine I was very excited) I put the Stay Flawless all over my face (In circular motions), and then applied the Hello Flawless with the brush – It was a disaster, I couldn’t get the foundation to apply smoothly and in certain areas it was sticking and forming clumps of foundation ( Now this could be down to my foundation applying skills, or just how quick and strong the primer is).
The second time I applied the two together I decided to take it in stages, so I worked on one half of my face and then did the second side, (This worked much better) I also applied the foundation with my finger tips and finished with the brush, (Again this worked much better for me).
Finally I had the Benefit ‘Flawless’ look.
To fully put the primer to the test I applied it with the Hello Flawless foundation, (As recommended by Benefit), I also tried it with a different base, and the Foundation on its own.
After 9 hours with Stay Flawless & Hello Flawless
After 11-12 hours of Stay Flawless & Hello Flawless
7am Stay Flawless with Tinted Moisturiser
After a day in work 6.30 pm with Stay Flawless & Tinted Moisturiser
MY STAY FLAWLESS VERDICT:
Benefit claim that this primer keeps your make-up on for 15 hours, I have only managed to wear it for 12 hours before taking it off, and I can confirm that it does the job.
I think any girl will agree that a primer that keeps your make-up on for over 10 hours without touch ups is a MIRACLE.
The thing I loved about this primer is that it kept my blusher and everything in place.
Usually by the end of the day my face would look dull, and I would need to slap the make-up back on – but ‘Stay Flawless’ kept the look going all day. (The only area of my face that lost a bit of make-up was my chin).
Although I LOVE the Stay Flawless primer I do think you need to get used to it, as it can feel quite sticky when applying the base on top, (As you can see by my first attempt) I recommend applying it in stages and finding out what is the best way to wear it for you.
It does what it says, and the sticking I suppose is the ‘Magnet’ locking in the foundation.
Stay flawless worked with Hello Flawless and also worked with my other base, so even if you’re not a foundation wearer like me, it could be used under powder, BB creams, tinted moisturiser, anything that you prefer to use.
MY HELLO FLAWLESS VERDICT:
As I said before I do not have much to compare this to, but my skin looked great after I applied it – it didn’t feel heavy on my skin, which was always a concern of mine – it hasn’t made my skin worse or break out – it was easy to apply using finger tips and the brush, and you didn’t need to become ‘product happy’ to create a nice even ‘Flawless’ look.
As I said I am new to foundation, BUT since testing out this primer and the foundation, I am oh so close to becoming a full-time foundation wearer…
I love the look it creates but to be honest I don’t need to wear it – Maybe I’ll just become a part-time wearer, and save it for weekends, nights out and special occasions.
