How to Prepare for Summer

How to prepare for summer

Technically speaking, Singapore has summer all year round, so that makes me a summer vacay expert here? For the rest of my fellow friends from all over the world, cheers to your summer break! Here's how I prepare for my summer break.

How to prepare for summer 1. Wear Sunscreen

I can't emphasize this enough. In Asian country, being fair is regarded as beautiful and elegant. But whether you love being fair or tan, sunscreen is still important as it blocks out harmful UVA and UVB rays and prevents the skin from getting burnt. My favourite sunscreen is from Biore and I use it whenever I'm out and about. If I'm staying indoor I would apply Klarity CC lotion which has an SPF value of 30.

2. Hydrate yourself

Drink lots and lots of water! In humid places like Singapore, we sweat pretty easily. So definitely drink up to prevent dehydration. If you do go swimming, chlorine can dehydrate the skin, use hydrating serum daily or mask twice a week to hydrate the skin. I'm loving Laneige Water Bank Essence at the moment. Try hydrating mist to hydrate your skin throughout the day.

3. Wear light, airy clothing.

Cropped tees, sleeveless are my favourite outfit to don on during summer times. Uniqlo Airism series are light as air and dies easily especially after sweating. This keeps you dry and comfortable all day long.

4. Lighter hair colour

I haven't dye my hair in awhile and all the black roots are showing up! Been thinking about getting a lighter hair colour. If you are unsure of what hair colour to dye, get some inspiration over at Madison Reed. Just answer a few questions and they will recommend colours for you.

If you are daring enough, try cutting your hair off! I swear it feels so much lighter and cooler.
If short hair isn't your game, then try shoulder length hair. This length suits almost any and everybody,

5. Experiment with colours

Try colourful nails, colourful outfits, colourful hair and even colourful makeup! This summer, I'm in love with pink eyeshadows.

This eyeshadow palette from Etude House is my current love! I will probably do a look with this! <3

Lastly, just enjoy the sun, sea and the deep blue sky while it last! :)
