Just got my brows done my favorite lady, Claire from Bristle Salon in Encinitas, & she truly is a brow guru!! Literally, every time she hands me that little mirror following my wax and tint I say "Holy shit! Those can't be mine!". Above is a picture of the final result, and you can see she has mastered the brow golden ratio. It's easy to check your brows ratio by simply grabbing a make-up brush/pen and holding it up to the 3 points seen above. There is nothing more I love than a perfect brow, so I decided to write a post sharing some of my favorite tips & tricks on how to achieve just that. Happy plucking.
Eyebrows through out history, personal favorites: Brigitte Bardot & Deborah Harry. The thick and defined brow is what I consider to be most attractive.
This shows just how important eyebrows really are, without them, even the most beautiful of
people look old & just plain ugly. Sorry Charlize, you need your brows. For more examples

Fail: Your eyebrows SHOULD be darker than your hair, but just by a little. Something this drastic
just looks frightening, unattractive, and masculine. My rule of thumb is to go one shade darker
than your hair.
Win: This a great example of a perfect brow color in regards to ones hair. The fact that they match
her roots makes this brow color perfect for her complexion! Not to mention the shape and density
of her brows is flawless.
Fail: Never dye your brows lighter than your hair. This is just weird & is only appropriate
for the runway (and that is even a stretch for me).
Win: This shape is just lovely. I suggest you see your brow lady just once and have her get a
good shape going for you. From there you should be able to maintain them yourself by
following the shape they achieved for you.
Fail: Do I even need to explain why this is such an epic fail. In my opinion, overly penciled in eyebrows has NEVER & will never be a good look. If you do have thin eyebrows, start growing
them out as much as humanly possible and than go see a professional to help you get a good shape
and a brow tint.
Win: Highlighter on the brow bone is always a must. It emphasizes that highly sought after
arch & makes the shape of your brows much more defined.
Fail: Trim your brows, please. Thick eyebrows are lovely, two caterpillars resting on your
forehead is not. This picture just reminds me too much of Grampa's overgrown eyebrows. Yet, if
she simply just brushed them in the opposite direction and trimmed them up with a mini scissor,
I bet they'd be near close to perfect!
