How to get glowing skin this wedding season.

The festive season is here and its here to stay until New Year. We all know what that means. Lots of parties, weddings, functions, get togethers. All in all its the best time of the year. So coming back to this post I am going to be sharing few tips and tricks on how to get glowing skin this wedding season.

If you are a bride then you need to take special care of your skin months before the D day. And if you are not a bride and are just looking for healthy and glowing skin then you too can up your skincare routine. Dont ignore your skin but at the same time dont over do it also, before trying any new treatments, or trying any new face mask always do your research and try to understand the needs of your skin and which ingredients would best suit your skin and which wont be ideal for your skin type. Sometimes, what works for me might not work for you and vice versa. So if you are a bride my advice to you would be step up your skincare game way before your wedding day, dont make your skincare an after thought. Keep ample amount of time in your hand so that if by any chance any product doesnt suit you , you can still give your skin enough time to heal itself. Now that being said homemade masks and treatments are safe , but also do use them as per instructions, if some mask is to be applied only for 15-20 minutes dont keep it on for 45 minutes thinking it might benefit more ( guilty of doing this).  So now lets get some skincare magic started.

Cleanse, Tone and Moisturise or CTM are the three pillars of any skin care routine, so no matter what your skin care regimen is never forget to do these 3 steps twice a day in your skin care routine, also never ever think of skipping Sunscreen, I see way too many uninformed posts on “natural skincare” , “chemical free skin care routine” , using only oils for skin etc etc, and they all very conveniently neglect sunscreen. So even if you are not serious about your skin care routine, dont ever skin on your sunscreen, sun burn not only increases the chances of skin caner, but it also ages the skin quicker, it damages the upper and lower layers of the skin as well.

So for glowing skin today I am sharing two tried and tested face masks, I have used both of these face masks and I swear by them, however each skin is different, and some ingredients react differently on everyone, so always do a patch test before trying any new mask. Check if your skin feels red or itchy or irritated after using that mask, if everything is ok then go ahead and apply it on your face.

Almond and Saffron Face mask : Almond is rich in Vitamin E and Saffron is rich in anti oxidants and is anti inflammatory so it actually soothes your skin.

You will need

Ingredients: Almonds, saffron, milk and honey

Take few almonds and grind them in a blender, do not make a fine paste, keep it gritty. add few strands of saffron with the almonds and store it in refrigerator. Every time you want to use the pack , take one tablespoon mix out and add few drops of milk and let it soak so that the saffron can dissolve and leave its color, then add a few drops of honey and apply it on your face and neck . Let it sit for few minutes, because it has honey it wont dry down completely. After 30 minutes , gently scrub your face and try to remove as much of the pack as you can through scrubbing, and then wash off your face with water. The grittiness of the almonds help in exfoliating the face, because of honey and oil in the almond its not harsh on the skin at all. You can use this mask thrice a week. Your skin will feel soft and supple and radiant.

Second Face Mask for glowing radiating skin requires milk powder. Milk powder has lactic acid which is a very good friend of your skin. Lactic acid is one of the leading ingredients in all good skincare today, Lactic acid is one of the most popular alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs).  Over time usage of this mask will exfoliate your skin and make it radiant.

Ingredients Milk Powder, Turmeric and Honey : All three ingredients are readily available. If you can get raw turmeric then wash and grate it, if using raw turmeric use less amount. Also try to use organic honey if you can, its always better that way.

Ingredients : 1 tablespoon milk powder, 1/4th tablespoon raw turmeric grated, half tablespoon honey

Honey

Mix all three ingredients and make a thick paste . Now apply the mask on clean face. Keep for 20 minutes and wash away with water. You can use this mask alternate days. Its not abrasive on the skin at all, and the lactic acid in the milk powder will help reduce stress induced breakouts, and over time also helps in reducing fine lines and wrinkles.

One more important tip on how to get glowing skin is  to drink a lot water. I know I know its been told a dozen million times. But I feel just because its been told so many times we often tend to take water intake for granted. But for a healthy glowing skin and system please drink sufficient amount of water.
