How to Disassemble a Nordictrack Treadmill?

Nordictrack treadmills are certainly the best exercise equipment one could ever have. Although, if you have planned to move somewhere else and you currently own a NordicTrack treadmill then you might face an issue. So, before you get ready to transport a Nordictrack treadmill, you should know that it requires easy folding. As Nordictrack treadmills carry several features, facilities, and technologies inside. Hence, disassembling a nordictrack treadmill can be a difficult task to do. As most people are not very well aware of the procedure. They end up damaging their expensive equipment.

Folding of the treadmill is quite easy to do which is only required when you are moving it from one room to another. While in the case of shifting house, you need to disassemble it entirely which is hectic. Along with that, disassembling is also required when you have to deep clean your treadmill for narrow spaces. However, there are several Nordictrack treadmill models like the Nordictrack treadmill 2450, 2950, 1750, and so on. The procedure of doing so is however the same.

So, how to disassemble nordictrack treadmill for moving?

Let's see how to carry it out.

The very first thing to do is to plug out the power cable of your treadmill. This is essential because it will save you from any kind of electrocution. Detaching the power source from your treadmill will also help you safely remove each part of your treadmill without getting them damaged.

As soon as you have plugged out the power source from your treadmill. The next thing you would do is to remove the wires off your console. This two-pieced console wire can be found at the back of your treadmill, near to handrail. Look out for this wire and carefully unplug it from the console.

The grounding wire is known to be a quite thin wire that starts from the hole in the center of the console on the backside. Look out for this grounding wire and detach it from the treadmill.

As soon as you have unplugged and detached all the wires from the treadmill, you should begin to fold the treadmill. Start this process by removing the console clamps from the top of the unit. If you want to remove the console clamps safely then you can use a 9-inch rod. Make sure you remove all four of the screws that keep the clamp in position.

This step is quite simple after you have removed all the wires. In this step, you need to loosen and remove all six screws that hold the console and treadmill. The treadmill has two screws on the left, two screws on the right and two in the middle. Make sure that you use a Philips head screwdriver to remove all of the sic screws. As soon as you get done with it, carefully raise the console from the frame and keep it in a safe place.

You are almost 70% done as you remove all of the wires and console from the treadmill. The next thing you would do is to carefully disassemble the equipment for easy transportation. Start off with removing those two console wires that you have previously disconnected. As you get done with it, remove the bolts that clasp the machine upright. The treadmill carries a total of 8 bolts. As you used a Philips head screwdriver to remove console bolts, use the same screwdriver to remove these bolts. Once you remove all of the bolts, you will only be left with the base which cannot be disassembled. Now carefully fold each part of your treadmill with a blanket to protect the treadmill from getting damaged.

Here comes the final step of moving/shifting your treadmill to the desired location safely. Once you safely disassemble and fold your treadmill. Make sure that you have carefully stored all of the parts of your treadmill so that they don't get damaged during the traveling.

Grasp the handrail using your hands and then carefully pull your treadmill. Every Nordictrack treadmill comes with wheels underneath it so dragging would be easy. If you only want to move your treadmill from one room to another then you can slowly drag the treadmill. While if you want to shift the treadmill from one place to another then make sure that the vehicle has enough space for all disassembled parts of the treadmill.

Shifting to upstairs

If you want to move your treadmill upstairs then the wheels would not do the thing. You would be required to lift the entire treadmill. You might want to take the base first as it is the heaviest part. Ask someone to accommodate you. After that, you can easily carry other small parts of the treadmill, and you are done!

After shifting the treadmill from one place to another, you need to reassemble the treadmill in the first place. Doing so will become easy if you take notes of every step that you have previously done to disassemble.

Now by looking at the record, start assembling the parts of the treadmill. Follow all the steps that are discussed earlier but in the backward. If you get successful in assembling the treadmill then you can turn it on by plugging in the power source and start using it right away!
