There's plenty of information online on how to choose your bridal lingerie, but it's easy to forget that this is just one night - what about the honeymoon?
Especially if you're lucky enough to be jetting straight off from the wedding venue to some exotic location or another to spend a couple of weeks enjoying being the new Mr and Mrs, you'll want to stay in that glorious wedding mood for as long as possible!
Who wants to wear a beautiful bridal lingerie set on their wedding night and then be back to the boring, everyday basics the very next day?
Instead, pack your suitcase full of gorgeous honeymoon lingerie, and don't forget to pack some luxurious designer nightwear too. Not only can you sleep in style in your luxury honeymoon suite at the hotel (cheap pajamas + deluxe decor = a big no-no), it's also the perfect excuse to splash out and invest in your sleepwear wardrobe. You did just get married after all!
Here is our guide to choosing the right designer nightwear for your honeymoon...
1. Style
First and foremost, you'll need to decide what style of nightwear you want. Go for something you'll feel comfortable in but hey, it's the honeymoon, so be a little more adventurous and daring than you normally would!
If you're a classic, comfy pajamas type of girl, why not invest in a pair of beautiful silk pyjamas? You know it's a style you feel comfortable wearing, in both senses of the word, but the luxury silk fabric brings a sense of exotic glamour that singles these out as special honeymoon pyjamas!
If you'd really like to impress the new hubby, why not go for a sexy little black nightdress? We love this one by Eco Boudoir (and hey, it's organic too!) but if that's not quite your thing a cute and girly camisole set is a great alternative!
2. Weather
It's also important to think about the weather in your chosen honeymoon destination! Perhaps you're a long-sleeved pajamas girl at heart, but if your honeymoon is taking place in the center of the Caribbean you'll end up sweating all night, and that's not a sexy look!
Similarly, if you're doings things a little bit differently and heading somewhere with a colder climate for your wedding getaway, you'll need to wrap up warm. If you've always worn short nighties it can be a little off-putting thinking you'll need to pack more traditional pyjamas, but there are plenty of beautiful options out there! Just look for luxury fabrics such as silk or satin, or beautiful details such as a lace trim.
3. Colour
You might also want to consider color. For some women this won't be so important, but if you've gone all out with the traditional white theme for your wedding (white dress, white lingerie, even white decor!) then why stop when the wedding ends?
Investing in some gorgeous, icy white nightwear such as this gorgeous broderie anglaise nightdress by Esprit will remind you of your wedding not only during the honeymoon but every time you wear it! Plus, it's super cheap, only £22!
4. Fabric
Finally, fabric is important for a number of reasons. Firstly, you no doubt want to look super glamorous on your honeymoon and materials such as silk and lace will instantly create that glamorous appeal no matter what you're wearing.
Secondly though, don't forget about 'packability'! If you choose your holiday clothes based on how little they crease in your suitcase, make sure you do the same with your nightwear. Who wants to sleep in crumpled pajamas on their honeymoon after all?
