Today I cooked dinner for my family and it tasted really nice and was reasonably healthy so I thought I would share it with you. I am vegetarian so there is no meat in here but you can always add anything to your tastes.
Ingredients:3 Packets of Chopped Tomatoes (you can find these here)About 540g of Wholewheat PasteSaltPepperMixed herbs100g Cheddar CheeseAnd then any vegetables you wish to add.
So it is as simple as that.To make the sauce I popped the chopped tomatoes, salt, pepper and mixed herbs in a pan. Before I cooked them I blended it to make a smooth sauce. I then added chopped veg (eg peppers, carrots, mushrooms....). Then put it on the heat for 15 minutes, until it has boiled, on a low heat. I then cooked my pasta, wholewheat is so much healthier so although pasta is high in carbs and calories it is doing good. I just popped it in boiling water for again 15 minutes until nice and soft.I put it all in a large lasagna dish, mixed it all together so there so there is sauce covering all the pasta. Finally I sprinkled over the cheese and put it under the grill for 10 minutes, until the cheese is melty and yummy.
And that is it, it is so customisable (is that a word!) you can change up the veg, you can add meat or change the cheese. You could even not add the cheese, then it would be a vegan dish. So this recipe is so versatile, anyone can eat it. This would serve about 6-7 people.
Thank you, what is your favorite healthy recipe?
See you soon. Love Allie x x x x
