Have You Heard of Goldbely?

By Slowdownandsavor

I was not financially compensated for this post. I did not receive any samples for review purposes. The opinions are completely my own based on my experiences.

Goldbely

Ever hear of Goldbely? If not, I’m sorry. This may just be the coolest service I’ve come across in a long, long time. Thanks to my husband being super good at what he does, one of his customers sent him a big thank you through the mail, since he couldn’t do it in person. Opening up the package, and seeing the slogan, “Goldbely: We are explorers of food,” I got super pumped.

Basically, Goldbely finds America’s most legendary dishes, and ships them right to your door. After scrolling through their website, I became enamored with the fact that you can send/receive cannolis from Carlo’s Bakery in Hoboken, NJ, or lobster rolls and whoopie pies from Hancock Gourmet Lobster Co. based in Topsham, ME. Are you playing? A real Chicago dog from Chicago’s own Vienna Beef Hot Dogs? Or, drool drool omg omg omg, A corned beef sandwich from New York City’s Katz’s Delicatessen? OR their mixed pickle bucket?? Sorry, I’m actually drooling right now. Like, literally. I can’t even understand how awesome this concept is, and guess what? It works.

My husband’s customer, as I mentioned before, couldn’t thank him for being so awesome in person due to the distance between them (it’s hard to do lunch with someone in Atlanta when you’re here in Austin!), so he sent two products from Goldbely.

First up, some hand crushed espresso caramels from Memphis, TN’s Shotwell Candy Company. The website’s description of these candies reads as follows:

Like that perfect cup of coffee on a cold morning, these espresso caramels are something special. Buttery soft caramel infused with espresso beans, house-made Tennessee whiskey vanilla extract and almond extract, finished with a sprinkling of hand-crushed espresso beans. The coffee beans found in these Hand-Crushed Espresso Caramels are 100% Costa Rican Tarrazu that have been masterfully roasted to a full city roast by Memphis based coffee roaster J. Brooks Coffee Roaster. Costa Rican Tarrazu beans are clean, well-balanced, with a berry/citrus flavor, that is often sweet, winy, and vibrant with a fine, bright acidity and a finish that reveals spice and chocolate undertones. They make a perfect compliment to these Shotwell caramels.

YUM!

These caramels are INTENSE. But you can taste the butter, and that my friends, is the best kind of caramel. They’re strong, yet addicting, and oh so wonderful.

The very next day, there was another box resting outside our door with the Goldbely sticker slapped on the outside. Heck yeah! I called my husband and let him know there was another box. “Open it,” he said. Heck yeah again!

This time, there was a box of gooey gourmet brownie bites from Brownie Points, a Columbus OH-based brownie company. With flavors like Peanut Brittle, Cran-Raspberry, and Butterscotch Sensations, I knew these weren’t your run-of-the-mill brownies. No sir. No ma’am.

And to say they were mind-blowingly delicious, would be an understatement. These brownies are super moist, and packed with tons of texture and flavor. My favorite so far? The butterscotch one. But we still have several to taste. I’m curious about that Cran-Raspberry one for sure.

You guys, I am so excited about this company. As I write this, I continue to return to their offerings, and just am stunned by what you can get. How about some of Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream sandwiches from Columbus, OH? They not only sound fantastic, and are shipped easily frozen on dry ice, but they’re apparently simply amazing. I mean, these ice creams have been featured on the Food Network’s “Best Thing I Ever Ate” and “America’s Best Top 10 Sweets”. Named America’s best ice cream by U.S. News & World Report and TIME.

But the one product that Goldbely offers that nearly brought a tear to my eye, yes, a tear… a cheesesteak from my very favorite restaurant I used to go to as a kid growing up in a Philadelphia suburb in New Jersey: Jim’s Steaks. Oh. My. Gosh. I’m not dreaming, right? Goldbely is real? I’m not in The Matrix?

Jim’s Steaks has been featured in Zagat, Philly Magazine, Huffington Post, Yahoo, on the Food Network’s “Rachel Ray $40 a Day,” and has many celebrity fans including Kobe Bryant, Jimmy Buffett, Kevin Hart, and Ice Cube… and me.

Heads up to everyone and anyone who’s reading this. I want one. Bad.

So go check out Goldbely for yourself. You can shop by taste or region. Have you always dreamed of trying buffalo wings from Buffalo, NY’s Anchor Bar, the home of the original buffalo wings? Well, now you can without the cost of the flight, hotels and all that jazz.

You can shop for corporate gifts, physical gift cards and even E-gift cards. Plus, if it’s your first time purchasing from them, you get $10 off! Boom.

So here’s a huge thank you from me to Michael’s customer from Atlanta for introducing us to Goldbely.
