Have you always lived in your world of wanderlust, dreaming of leaving your footprint at every destination on your travel bucket list? My travel bug’s biting, yet it seems I’m adding travel pin-spiration to my pin board at a much faster pace than I can tick them off from my bucket list. The cure? Keep living the wanderlust life, and follow someone else’s journey when you don’t get to wander around the globe as much as they do (how is that even fair?).
One of the best (& worst) part of my dayjob is that I get to check out awesome travel blogs every day, making virtual connections with globe-trotting bloggers as they share their tales on the road, to that destination that I’ve always dreamt of. One truly inspiring travel diva whom I was lucky enough to have met online is Brooke Saward who’s founded World of Wanderlust (WOW), taking herself to all the exotic places in her unique style. I recently caught up with Brooke to find out what goes behind the scene of her travel blogging journey…
Brooke at The Atlantis the Palm, DubaiWOW girls are…
Ready for adventure.
If you were a tourist in your hometown (Launceston, Tasmania) for 24 hours…
I would start my day by walking through the Cataract Gorge, wander on down to Stillwater Cafe for breakfast, stroll along the Seaport, visit a winery for lunch and afternoon wine tasting.
Most picturesque city for striking a pose?
I wouldn’t leave Paris without…Getting at least one snap of the Eiffel Tower. Ahhh Paris, Je t’aime.
Are you a shopper when you travel? Best hidden spots for shopping overseas?
YES! I don’t know how I got so bad (good) at shopping but I am terrible at self control when overseas. I absolutely love shopping in the jewish quarter of all European cities – great little trinkets and unique jewelery to look back on are my favourite items to purchase overseas.
Shoe lady or bag lady?
I’m a shoebag lady. I love wearing a casual outfit such as jeans and a t-shirt, but dressing it up with a killer pair of heels and oversized bag.
Things that you always wish you’ve packed in your luggage but always forget?
Food for the journey!
My biggest guilty pleasure…
Ice cream/Gelati. For anyone who knows me, you will know my stomach is a bottomless pit when it comes to ice cream consumption!
A travel blogger’s best friends?
Laptop, iPhone, caffeine.
My biggest source of energy and motivation for seeing the world…
Looking back on my own travels and remembering the feelings I had at the time.
I love thinking about old travels and remembering exactly what it felt like to be in that moment.
