Hand Spun Homemade Shamrock Shake | Recipes

As it soon is approaching St. Patrick’s Day, I always try to stop myself to get the sudden urge of hopping over to McDonald’s to get the famous “Shamrock Shake“.

Since you don’t actually know how McDonald’s makes their infamous shamrock shake, always know that there are much better alternatives, in which you can try at home for a similar taste, and you’ll actually know what you’re drinking.

INGREDIENTS:

6 c.(1.5 qts.) vanilla ice cream

3 to 3 3/4 c. milk

3/4 tsp. mint extract

27 drops green food coloring

Whipped cream or ( your preference )

INSTRUCTIONS:

Blend ice cream, milk, mint extract, and food coloring in a blender until smooth.

[No blender? You could use a hand mixer as well!]

Pour into glasses. Top with whipped cream and colored sugar if desired.
