Golf Videos of the Week (10/29)

By Theteesheet @theteesheet

After out first ever one-week hiatus for GVOTW, we're back! It's clearly the off-season in golf (I don't care what the PGA Tour schedule says) and we had to finish installing hardwood floors at TheTeeSheet world headquarters.

JOHN DALY WAS AT A DISADVANATEG BECAUSE HE TYPICALLY EATS WITH HIS HANDS

Fun video by the European Tour on picking up golf balls with chopsticks.

Of course the funniest part of the video is the results at the end in which: (a) Migeul Angel Jiminez somehow tied Chinese golfer Wen-chong Liang (maybe Jimenez is the world's most interesting man); (b) John Daly withdraws again!; and (c) the headline was no criticism of JD, the same is probably true of Jeev Milka Singh ... who was suspiciously absent.

SHE SEEMS OLDER THAN 16

Lydia Ko's made a cool video announcement about turning professional helped on by rugby world superstar Israel Dagg. Ko certainly shows a level of comfort in front of the camera alongside the charismatic and confident Dagg. She was certainly more comfortable than a certain basketball player merely deciding to change professional teams.

HAPPY FEET

The swing through Asia also brings us this video from Rickie Fowler's Instagram of some players and friends at what appear to be a spa.

If you're wondering what's happening:

MORE ON "SOAPS"

While we enjoy looking at attractive women as much as the next red-blooded male, the whole term "WAGS" seems to be a bit played out and demeaning (in case you don't know, it's an acronym for "Wives and Girlfriends" and usually accompanies sexy pictures of Paulina Gretzky et al. in bikinis). Of course we don't want to stop objectifying people's bodies, we just think we should be politically correct about it. Thus we propose SOAPs: Significant Others and Alternative-lifestyle Partners. That way, the WNBA doesn't feel left out.

Anyway, this week in SOAPs, we have Lindsey Vonn on the Today Show talking a bit about what she learned from Tiger. Matt Lauer seems to have missed the two obvious questions: (a) did Tiger learn anything from her; and (b) did she use platelet rich plasma therapy on her knee like Tiger?

Visit NBCNews.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

Lauer's softball questions were innocent enough. However, the possibility of this train-wreck appears to be real.

It is easy to be critical or all high and mighty about this being the end of western civilization (which of course it is). But in reality, the problem may be that overall it seems harmless. The real danger may be that it is boring. As a person who limits his reality television to Top Chef (and shouting designing advice at the TV while the wife watches Project Runway and simultaneously trying to maintain a heterosexual masculinity), one need to simply look at the commercials on Bravo TV to see where our society is headed. Tour Wives is going to have to step up the inanity, vacuous-ness and cleavage if it plans to go anywhere. Just saying.

RICE & ARNIE

Switching gears to some a more cerebral woman, here's a clip of Augusta National member Condi Rice teeing it up with Charlie Rose. She looks like she has a pretty good turn.

The King made quite the entrance to the Wake Forest football game a week back (via Kyle Porter's CBS EyeOnGolf)

WHILE WE'RE YOUNG ... AND KENYAN IF POSSIBLE

The Speedgolf World Championship was this past weekend (via Geoff Shackleford). We were rooting for Christopher Smith whom we introduced you to last June on GVOTW. He finished eighth. A great idea was to invite five-time Olympic medalist Bernard Lagat to participate.

CUTE AND FUZZY WABS ... BUT WOULD MICHELLE WIE EAT THIS?

Truly, the only reason I noticed this caterpillar on a golf course video was this has somehow received over 12,000 views. These little guys are all over the place up here in the northeast (btw, WABs are Wives and Bugs).

DRUNK GOLF (OR "GOLF" AS MOST OF US KNOW IT)

Here's a fun clip of Justin Timblerlake on the Jonathan Ross Show (a British talk show) from this spring playing golf and doing tequila shots. The main point is that there should be more drinking on television talk shows.

We leave you with one of the craziest videos of the week from the world of sport ... the new world record for biggest wave surfed.

 Cheers!
